Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de sauvegarde pour la vérification et la restauration de données informatisées comportant un ordinateur relié à un réseau informatique, un support de stockage principal qui assure le stockage des données informatisées et un support de stockage secondaire. Le support de stockage secondaire est divisé en fichiers de stockage. Les fichiers de stockage sont chacun, soit reliés en fonctionnement (montés) à l'ordinateur ou déconnectés en fonctionnement (débranchés) de l'ordinateur. UN processeur de l'ordinateur lors du stockage d'une copie des données informatisées dans un des fichiers de stockage, relie ou monte en fonctionnement le fichier de stockage uniquement pour des opérations de lecture et maintient une valeur stockée d'un paramètre (par exemple, un total de contrôle) de la copie. Le processeur assure la comparaison périodique de la valeur stockée à une valeur correspondante du total de contrôle des données informatisées. Lors de la détection d'une anomalie entre la valeur stockée et la valeur correspondante: lorsque l'anomalie tire son origine des données informatisées, les données informatisées sont restituées depuis la copie et lorsque l'anomalie tire son origine de la copie, soit (i) la copie est restituée à partir des données informatisées ou (ii) une autre copie des données informatisées est reconstituée dans un autre fichier de stockage. Le fichier de stockage est monté pour des opérations d'écriture uniquement pour la mise à jour de la copie. Un mécanisme d'enregistrement chronologique de données documente chaque instance de la connexion (le montage) en fonctionnement du fichier de stockage pour des opérations d'écriture.
