Abstract

 ユーザによる観察の効率化をはかることができる画像処理装置および当該画像処理装置における画像処理方法を提供する。本発明の画像処理装置は、撮像機能を有する医療機器により撮像された複数の画像に基づく画像信号を入力する画像信号入力手段と、前記複数の画像を各々複数の領域に分割する画像分割手段と、前記複数の領域各々における特徴量を算出する特徴量算出手段と、前記特徴量及び前記特徴量の発生頻度に基づき、特徴空間において生成した複数のクラスタを複数のクラスのいずれかに各々分類するクラスタ分類手段と、前記複数の画像を用い、複数のサブセットを生成するサブセット生成手段と、一のサブセットに含まれる画像各々の、前記特徴空間における前記特徴量の分布状態に基づき、前記一のサブセットに含まれる画像を分類する際の分類基準を算出する分類基準算出手段とを具備する。
