Abstract

Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Schutz einer sich ständig ändernden, in einem maschinenlesbaren Speicher gespeicherten Datenkonfiguration, wie insbesondere eines Betriebssystems, vor ungewünschten Veränderungen. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren werden die folgenden Schritte ausgeführt: a) Erfassen von Werten bestimmter, einen Zustand der Datenkonfiguration charakterisierender Parameter, b) Generieren eines aktuellen Datenmusters aus den in Schritt a) erfaßten Werten, c) Vergleichen des Datenmusters mit wenigstens einem vorgegebenen Datenmuster, d) Zuordnen des generierten Datenmusters auf Basis des Vergleichs von Schritt c) zu einer von wenigstens zwei verschiedenen Kategorien, von denen wenigstens eine wenigstens einem normalem Zustand der Datenkonfiguration entspricht und von denen wenigstens eine andere wenigstens einem anormalen Zustand der Datenkonfiguration entspricht und e) Ausführen wenigstens einer Schutzoperation, wenn das generierte Datenmuster einer einem anormalen Zustand entsprechenden Kategorie zugeordnet wurde.
