Definitions

  • the present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for the automatic printing of photographs starting from digital data defining the images to be printed on said photographs .
  • Known apparatuses for the automatic printing of photographs starting from digital data normally comprise an acquisition device into which the client or operator downloads said data, and a printer device connected to the acquisition device in order to print the photographs. After printing, the photographs are inserted inside envelopes, and cataloged so they can later be collected by the client.
  • the client can pay the operator for the service directly before printing or when the photographs are collected.
  • One disadvantage of these known apparatuses is that the operations before and after printing are done in a completely manual manner and require the constant presence of operators and their continual intervention, with considerable economic costs, making it impossible for the client to download the digital data, pick up the printed photographs and/or pay for the service outside the working hours of the operators .
  • Purpose of the present invention is to perfect a method and achieve an apparatus which allow to acquire and process digital data defining images to be printed on photographs, to print, store and dispense photographs automatically, even when the operators are absent.
  • the Applicant has devised, tested and embodied the present invention to overcome the shortcomings of the state of the art and to obtain these and other purposes and advantages.
