Abstract

The invention relates to an electromechanical locking cylinder. According to the invention, said cylinder is characterised by a housing part (5) that is connected to a receptacle (4) containing a regenerative energy source (1), an energy accumulator (2) and evaluation and control electronics (3). In one embodiment, the regenerative energy source (1) is a photovoltaic energy source (10) and/or a thermocapacitive generator that is combined with energy storage means (15) in the form of an internal battery. In another advantageous embodiment, the rotating core (20) is provided with an electrically conductive contact for a charging current from a battery unit (27), which is integrated into a key (30), to the energy storage means (15) that is associated with the locking cylinder. A method for controlling the unlocking of an electromechanical locking cylinder is characterised in that at least one thermomechanical actuator (40), situated in a locking cylinder, is driven by an energy pulse with a defined duration and intensity or with a defined pulse-pause rate, said pulse acting on a series of locking pins (45) to release the blocking of the core rotation of the locking cylinder.
