Abstract

In the sport of fencing, with an electronic hits indicator, valid hits are indicated by acoustic or optical signals. In foil and sabre fencing, conductive metal fabrics and the like are additionally worn by the fencers to delimit the valid hit areas. Fencing also requires a piste with a conductive surface. Metal fabrics and meshes previously used for these are susceptible to corrosion and mechanical stress. The invention is therefore based on the problem of developing an improved conductive fabric for the sport of fencing without these disadvantages, which is suitable both for fencing clothing and fencing equipment.
