  • Data broadcasting means broadcasting a data file and/or executable program codes in addition to a conventional video and/or audio broadcasting which is transmitted in real-time, such as radio broadcasting and television broadcasting.
  • Service information generally includes the schedule of services and programs received through a data broadcasting network. The service information is stored and processed in a low-level data structure for efficiency in a data broadcast receiver.
  • Service information makes receivers know available channels and data in a digital data broadcasting system. Also, service information shows users the name of service, audio language, and current broadcasting information. Therefore, it is necessary for users or application programs to transmit service information on programs including a current broadcasting program and programs to be broadcasted in diverse service environments where a broadcasting network is connected with a communication network and to efficiently search information in need quickly among diverse service information.
