Abstract
Method and apparatus for unblocking enriched air blow or reaction gas nozzles in reactors by the injection of discrete air impacts at time intervals at a high pressure and rate through the enriched air blow or reaction gas nozzles; thus, the air impacts penetrate into the melting bath of such reactors, breaking off the accretions that plug the flow of the enriched air or gas that flows through the nozzle, allowing for the production of directed accretion and a natural lengthening of the tube of nozzle from the inner wall of these reactors, this allows the 02-enriched air blowing through the nozzle to enter deeper in the melting bath, preventing early erosion of the refractory material and tending to eliminate obstructive accretions that can be formed.
