Abstract

A hybrid traction system for the traction of a vehicle comprises an internal combustion engine (2, 102), at least a first electric machine (5, 105) and at least a second electric machine (8; 108), first transmission means (3; 103, 104, 104b) suitable for being connected mechanically to said internal combustion engine and to at least one of said electric machines (5; 105), second transmission means (6; 106) suitable for being connected mechanically to at least one of said electric machines (8; 108) and to the wheels of the vehicle; the system comprises furthermore connecting or restraining means (15; 21; 111) suitable for enabling mechanical power to be transmitted to the wheels of the vehicle only by the internal combustion engine (2; 102) through said first transmission means (3; 103, 104, 104b) and said second transmission means (6; 106). This allows to drive the vehicle using only the internal combustion engine (2,102).
