Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil destinés à réguler la condition d'un pipeline enterré. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, on introduit un courant électrique alternatif dans le pipeline, et une amplitude d'un signal de courant électrique produit par le courant dans le pipeline est mesurée au niveau de récepteurs situés le long du pipeline. La mesure de l'amplitude de courant électrique peut être comparée à des données de référence afin de déterminer si la condition du pipeline a changé avec le temps, par exemple. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la mesure peut être comparée à des données de référence afin de déterminer l'emplacement d'un défaut dans le revêtement isolant appliqué à la canalisation.
