Abstract

A pad (10) for an optical mouse has a base material sheet (11); a diffuse reflection member (12) constituted of either a metallic reflection coating with projections and recesses or glossy light reflection pieces, the metallic reflection coating being a coating formed on the base material sheet (11) in a manner spreading in forward and backward and left and right directions such that the distance between adjacent projections is 1.5 mm or less, the glossy light reflection pieces being pieces each having a side of 1.5 mm or less; and a transparent coating (13) coated on the diffuse reflection member (12) and whose surface is made from hard synthetic resin etc. that is formed in a substantially planar shape. That pad (10) for an optical mouse can be produced relatively simply and inexpensively and can provide good response for commonly available light reflection-type optical mice.
