Abstract

The invention relates to a cigar humidor container comprising a hollow body (1), the bottom of which is closed with a base (30) and the top of which is open. Two chambers (6, 7) are defined inside the aforementioned body, namely an upper chamber (6) which is designed to house vertically-disposed cigars (P) and a lower chamber (7) which contains a liquid-absorbing element (2). The top of the hollow body (1) can be closed with a cover (20) comprising a pull flange (21) which is equipped with a hygrometer (25). The aforementioned flange (21) can be moved in relation to the cover (20) and is configured such that it can seal and uncover at least one conduit (23) provided in the cover (20). OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is applied in the manufacture of containers for housing cigars, preferably pure, with the appropriate conditions to maintain the original quality of tobacco.

An object of the invention is to provide a container with a simple configuration that allows comfortable handling of the cigars as well as the simple operation of the humidifier, while fulfilling an ornamental function.

Another object of the invention is to guarantee the conditioning of the tobacco contained in the container with an adequate level of humidity in its interior and to allow the regulation of said degree of humidity conveniently in order to provide at all times an accommodation suitable for pure cigars.

A final object of the invention is to construct the container with the appropriate materials to improve or at least not interfere with the aroma of the lodged tobacco.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

It is well known that cigars and especially cigars are products that require optimal temperature and humidity conditions for their perfect preservation. From the point of view of the relative humidity necessary for cigars and cigars, the optimum levels are between 65% and 75%.

A good cigar or cigar smoker knows how to appreciate its flavor and the external appearance of the product, which is often subjected to the variations of the environment that surrounds it while it is stored, so it is essential that it be preserved with sufficient humidity to that the tobacco with which it has been made maintains its quality of origin.

In particular, cigars that have not been properly preserved can lose much of their appreciated quality due to a loss of moisture, which makes drying the tobacco leaves with which they are laboriously manufactured.

As a solution to the aforementioned problem, numerous cigar humidifiers are known, as well as large containers, decorative boxes or covers for a small number of cigarettes or cigars.

In traditional humidifier containers, cigars are placed horizontally, one on top of the other, so that the level of humidity achieved is not the same in all of them.

On the other hand, the majority of such packages incorporate removable lids, provided with moisturizing means. When the humectant material is found in the lid, each time the smoker removes it to take a cigar or cigar, the entire surface of said material is exposed to the air, whereby the humectant eventually dries out early, putting endangered cigars and cigars, which can be spoiled without timely moisture inside the package. Another drawback is that, if the container, box or cover is made of wood, as usual, when treating it with varnishes or polishing it to protect the product, the natural aroma of tobacco is masked with other less pleasant ones.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention solves, among others, the above-mentioned problem, in each and every one of the different aspects mentioned, constituting a package that, apart from satisfying its basic function of cigar and cigar container, offering an aesthetic that serves the user as ornamental piece, it meets the optimal conditions to conserve tobacco because the structure of the container has means that supply and regulate the humidity inside, while its construction characteristics give a good aroma to the breast of the container respecting the taste of tobacco.

Specifically, the invention relates to a humidifier container of cigars, but also applicable to cigarettes, which has a series of particular structural features designed to offer optimal accommodation and conditioning of cigars and cigars, with a suitable and uniform degree of humidity for all contained tobacco, which makes it highly advantageous compared to other known humidifiers. In addition, the construction materials of the package are chosen and treated in order not to spoil the taste of snuff, but respecting it or providing an aroma that improves the taste of cigars.

The proposed cigar and cigar container has a configuration in which not only the humidifying function and its manageability have been considered, as regards the exposure of the product with its easy extraction by the consumer, but also the decorative value that It has the container for the user. Said configuration is constituted from a hollow body, preferably in the form of a parallelepiped, but it can adopt other sections such as circular or elliptical.

The humidifier package that is proposed comprises a hollow body intended to house cigars and / or cigars, complemented with a lid for closing said hollow body, housing inside a liquid absorbent element that provides moisture to pure cigars. The interior of the hollow body comprises separating means, which may consist of multiple wooden slats or a single wooden separator plate, as described below, which define two chambers: an upper chamber capable of accommodating the cigars vertically and a lower chamber containing the liquid absorbent element.

Additionally, the lid has on its upper face a projection that serves as a handle and includes a hygrometer, which allows the user to know at all times the level of humidity that exists inside the closed container, without needing to uncover it. The projection with the hygrometer is movable with respect to the lid and is configured to allow the sealing and release of at least one conduit provided in said lid, to create air flow between the upper chamber and the outside. More specifically and according to a preferred embodiment, such projection has a free turning capacity with respect to the same cover.

The hollow body comprises at least one through hole that communicates the lower chamber with the outside, and a movable control with respect to the hollow body to occupy at least two positions, a first sealing position of the through hole and a second position of releasing the through hole , to cause an air flow between the duct of the lid and the through hole of the hollow body. According to a possible embodiment, the body of the container can comprise transparent sides, usually of glass or other material that allows to see the cigars and cigars housed vertically inside, or be all of wood. The humidifier has in its upper part a removable cover, preferably folding and also made of wood, and inferiorly a base made of solid wood. The wood used can be neutral so as not to influence the aroma of the cigars themselves, or aromatic wood, preferably of cedar, can be used, which gives a pleasant aroma to the contained tobacco. The body and the lid may be varnished externally but never on the inside so as not to damage the taste of the cigars. In any case, the wood used is solid, conglomerates are not used, to facilitate a balanced medium within the container to achieve a properly damp interior with the means explained below.

At the inner bottom of the body, the humidifier houses the absorbent element of water or other liquid, from which the precise humidity inside the package proceeds to prevent the snuff from becoming dry. Additionally, the bottom or the base of the body can be configured with internal recesses that act as extra deposits of the liquid, which the user can refill, for example, when a long period of time will pass without using the cigar humidifier, in forecast that there is always enough moisture inside during that period.

The walls of the container, at least if one is chosen because one of its sides is transparent, can be double, the transparent side being constituted with two parallel faces of glass or the like, between which an air chamber is created, in order to avoid the appearance of fog that prevents the clear visualization of the product contained in said container, due to the humid environment that persists inside for the benefit of cigars and pure contents. According to an object of the invention and according to an alternative embodiment, ducts are provided in the humidifier container in order to cause an air flow between the interior and the exterior, thus resulting in the housing of the cigars being always conditioned and regulated with respect to ambient humidity, since external air can be introduced through the ducts of the container and renew the air inside.

For the achievement of this purpose, according to a possible embodiment of the invention, both the handle and the lid have perforations made in correspondence, so that when the projection is rotated, the respective perforations coincide in extension and communicate with the interior of the container humidifier, producing a release of these upper air ducts, provided in the lid. Meanwhile, the inner face of said lid incorporates a mesh or grid to prevent undesirable elements from entering through said perforations or conduits that dirty inside and damage the cigars.

At the base of the body of the humidifier container, thanks to the presence of the liquid absorbent element or humectant medium, conveniently provided on a tray or housed in a drain inside the base itself, instead of incorporating it into the lid, even when the consumer Open the container to remove the cigars, they maintain the appropriate level of humidity. Gradual evaporation at room temperature allows the maintenance of a certain degree of internal humidity, making it ideal for conditioning tobacco. Under the tray with the humidifying medium or at its base, an electrical resistance can be incorporated, an electrical outlet having been provided in the body of the container to feed it, which is useful in cold environments to reach the appropriate temperature within said container. Within the same body of the humidifier, in a plane above which the liquid absorbent element is arranged, which can be a simple sponge, according to a preferred embodiment, a plate is divided that divides the interior into two parts or chambers, such plate being arranged multi-hole separator that communicate both cameras. By storing the cigars in the container in an upright position, resting on said plate with holes and this, in turn, arranged above the wetting element, moisture is evenly distributed between the cigars, contrary to what occurs in the containers where traditionally the product should be stored horizontally, leaving pure cigars that are further away from the wet source drier. To create a better "shot" on the same cigars, it is desirable to pierce with a stick or similar utensil the end of cigar nozzles, as smokers do traditionally, to more easily let moist air pass through all the inner and outer layers of Pure cigars

To produce the humidity inside the container, recharging liquid that accumulates in the absorbent element and / or in the internal recesses of the bottom, an opening is provided in at least one of the sides, configured in shape and dimensions to be able to introduce through the neck of a handle or knob, also made of wood. The opening is practiced laterally and near the bottom, so that when it is pierced by said neck its end emerges inside the body inside the lower chamber, under the separator plate, where the moisturizing medium is located.

This handle or control has a through hole, practiced along the central axis of its neck, the emerging end of said neck being plugged by a small silicone button or other similar material that can be punctured with a needle and allow water to pass that is injected with said needle into the lower chamber of the body of this humidifier. The control is constituted as a plug with a widening which is centrally extended in the neck of the remote and can be turned automatically or by user manual action.

In order to create a stream of air between the inside of the body of said humidifier and the outside, in the widening, the control has at least one other through hole, which is at the side of the central axis and, therefore, of the previously mentioned through hole plugged. Each through hole provided in the broadening of the control, when it is rotated to a certain position, coincides with at least one through hole provided in the area surrounding the side and bottom opening of the container.

Thus, the humid environment can be created and regulated simply by introducing water into the absorbent element deposited inside the body of the proposed humidifier container, directly or by means of a syringe that passes through the through hole of the lateral control. In the humidity level regulation, the exchange of air between the exterior and the interior that is achieved through the holes of the lid or of the control contributes, by rotating one and / or the other as appropriate. Optionally, the humidifier has electronic devices capable of automatically activating the rotation of the lateral control or the top cover, based on the humidity measurements given by the hygrometer, to open or close the ducts and orifices in its right measure through of which the air flow is created with which the degree of humidity is controlled. Another possible alternative embodiment is that, having emptied the base of the container to house the liquid absorbent element, on said emptying slats are incorporated, constructed with wood such as cedar whose aromatic properties are known to be convenient to enhance the flavor of the cigars, which are crossed by a tube which extends to the top of the container at a funnel-shaped end, through which water is poured or another suitable liquid towards the bottom absorbent element. This is another way, then, to provide the precise humidity inside the package to prevent the snuff from drying out.

The arrangement of the product inside the package is very simple, since it is done simply by standing up the cigars and cigars resting on the slats of aromatic wood provided on the base. When the cigars and cigars are stored in the container in an upright position, resting on the aromatic slats and these, in turn, on the moisturizing element, the moisture is distributed evenly between them, obtaining an ideal preservation for all, contrary to what It occurs in containers where traditionally the product must be stored horizontally, the cigars that are furthest from the wet source being drier.

The wooden slats have several recesses that define windows through which the moisture from the liquid absorbent element is distributed evenly from the base between all cigars and cigars.

In order to allow the extraction of the cigars with all comfort, the tube through which the water reaches the absorbent element of the bottom incorporates at its upper end a support of profile bent downwards, of which the user, having previously opened the lid of the container, You can pull and spin freely until you rest it on the edge of the container, thus bringing up the slats with the product on them, so that the consumer can take the cigar or cigar they want more comfortably.

Another embodiment option to allow the extraction of cigarettes from inside the container is the placement of a spring or springs located at the bottom of the container, so that these springs they are retained by the action of the lid on the container and, when released from the lid, the cigars that are supported on the slats of aromatic wood provided on the base are moved upwards.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the figures 1 and 3 outlined, it can be described as a possible embodiment of the invention a cigar humidifier (P) constituted from a hollow body (1) of wood, preferably cedar, with a top opening that has an emerging edge (19) where a lid (20) fits, also made of cedar wood, constituting a container with dimensions adapted to store cigars vertically (P), further strengthened by the material itself because it provides a suitable aroma that Thanks the tobacco consumer. According to this preferred embodiment, the body (1) externally has a parallelepipedic configuration, while internally the emptying where the cigars are housed (P) is cylindrical, although obviously other shapes can be taken.

The upper face of the lid (20) incorporates a shoulder (21) that, on the one hand, acts as a handle of said lid (20), while on the other, it supports a hygrometer (25) to measure the level of humidity that exists inside the body (1). The projection (21) can be rotatable to be able to seal or release air ducts (23) provided in the cover (20) that communicate the exterior with the interior of the body (1). Such highlight (21) account with holes (22) which, being the lid (20) normally closing the body (1), when the user rotates manually or by some known mechanism said projection (21), the holes (22) coincide in extension with the respective ducts (23). On the other hand, said body (1) contains a liquid absorbent element (2), such as a sponge or similar water absorbent material, arranged in a tray (3) provided at the bottom of the body (1). Above the liquid absorbent element (2) and its tray (3), at a convenient height to make room for cigars (P), a separator plate (4) is fitted, thus defining two chambers (6, 7) inside said hollow body (1): an upper chamber (6) where the cigars (P) are supported standing on the separator plate (4) and a lower chamber (7) that houses the tray (3) with the liquid absorbent element (2). Said separator plate (4) has multiple perforations (5) that communicate each chamber (6, 7). In this way and since the cigars (P) settle on the separating plate (4) in an upright position, the environmental humidity reached inside the body (1) is transmitted homogeneously between each pure cigar, through the different layers that form cigarettes, achieving an ideal preservation of tobacco for a precise degree of humidity.

In order to achieve that ideal degree of humidity and maintain it, the hollow body (1) has an opening (8) that communicates Ia lower chamber (7) with the outside and is adapted to receive a control (10), comprising a widening (11), preferably circular, from which emerges a neck (12) attachable to the opening (8). The final end of the neck (12) emerges through the opening (8) to the lower chamber (7). In any case, said control (10) can adopt at least two positions: a first position in which the through hole (16) is blocked by the control (10) and a second position in which said through hole (16) is free so that the external air flow passes to the lower chamber (7).

In the example of embodiment of Figures 1 and 3, the through holes (16) are two and diametrically opposite, one being above and one below the opening (8). With the control (10) in the first position, not turned and according to the preferred embodiment represented in the aforementioned

In the lower face of the lid (20), a recess is made for the fitting with the peripheral edge of the body (1), through hollow joints (38) that allow its perfect coupling without moisture leaks.

The center of the mentioned cover (20) is crossed by perforations (49) that continue to the projection (21), together with a central through hole (40), occupied by a threaded bolt, which serves to fix the projection (21 ) with the hygrometer (25) to the lid (20).

Between the cover (20) and its projection (21), sealing gaskets (39) are optionally provided that also prevent moisture leaks from that area.

Another option provided for the opening of the lid (20), as shown in Figure 6, is that the projection (21) is rotatable with respect to an emerging axis (41), fixed to one side of the base of the stand out

(21), which fits with the possibility of rotation in said cover (4). Thus, in the event that there is excess moisture inside the container, it is allowed to pass outward through the ducts (23) made in the center of the lid (4), under the base of the shoulder (21), once said projection (21) is turned to free the exhaust ducts (23) from moisture.

According to the embodiment represented in Figure 6, said ducts (23) are distributed forming 120 ° to each other with respect to the central hole (40) of the lid (20).

In Figures 4 and 8, it can be seen that both the upper and lower periphery of the side faces (44) of the package are arranged a few strips of wood (45, 45 '). The invention has been described according to some preferred embodiments thereof, but the person skilled in the art will be able to understand that multiple variations can be introduced and combined in multiple ways, within the object of the claimed invention. All the details and accessory elements, as well as the shapes, dimensions and materials of the package described herein, could be suitably replaced by others that are technically equivalent, without departing from the scope defined by the claims included below. .
