Abstract

The invention relates to a device for beverage cans, which comprises a cover and a hole and which is applied to the liquid outlet. The inventive device comprises two parts (1 and 2) which are interconnected to form an assembly and which are positioned on top of one another. The lower part or base (1), which is fixed, takes the form of a ring with a central cavity (7), the position of which corresponds to the hole in the container, and a transverse protective bar (17). The upper part or cover (2), which has a precise shape and dimensions, is mobile and can move and change position, serving directly as a lid. Description

The present invention, as expressed in the statement of this specification, refers to a device with a lid and mouthpiece for beverage cans which, due to its design, configuration and obvious utility, significantly improves the state of the existing technique in This sector, providing a viable solution and easy industrial application to seal or block the liquid outlet in the beverage cans while forming a mouthpiece to facilitate the absorption of the beverage by the user.

Despite its obvious advantages as beverage containers, especially because of its low cost and its ease of transport and storage, aluminum cans have serious problems in two specific aspects. In the first place, once the container has been opened, it is not possible to close the outlet opening of the liquid, which forces the entire contents of the can to be consumed immediately if the beverage is to be tasted in perfect conditions. In addition, this permanent opening implies a very high risk of accidental spillage of the liquid and the possibility that any type of dirt, insect or object enters inside the container. Second, the container, due to its transport and storage conditions in factories, distributors and outlets, is likely to be seriously affected by dirt of all kinds, dust, microbes and bacteria, etc. This dirt is deposited on the entire surface of the can and is especially evident in its upper part, just where the liquid outlet opening is located which implies that this same liquid is mixed with the dirt and the consumer ends up ingesting a thing and another, whether you drink directly from the can or do it in a glass.

There are numerous patents that have developed systems to provide a means of closure to this type of containers or a mouth to facilitate the liquid exit. For example, European Patent 2193761 refers to a "Cap applied under pressure to boats containing beverages". In this case, the upper part of the boat is protected against contamination by means of a light lid, almost without volume and with a side handle for easy handling. For its part, the patent 200002503 refers to a "cap applicable to beverage cans" which is formed by three pieces: a rigid plastic ring, an intermediate piece of flexible plastic provided with a threaded neck and a cap itself properly attachable by thread to the neck of the intermediate piece. Another invention patent that provides a solution is the number P200001943, on a "Lid", composed of a piece with a dashed dashed line that allows it to be separated into two other pieces at the time of opening.

A similar system is the one presented in utility model U 200401678, which refers to a "Hygienic protector for beverage cans" and which consists of a self-adhesive sheet that covers the upper part of the can. For its part, the utility model U 200401137 develops a "lid for beverage cans" that is formed by two superimposed bodies, one of greater diameter than the other and that are capable of incorporating advertising and / or gaming elements. Also the utility model U 200301505 on a "lid for beverage cans" presents a solution that is specified in a circular piece that adapts to the upper part of the can and that has a perimeter skirt that surrounds the upper part of the can and which has a nerve inside and halfway, which is placed, once the lid is placed on the container, below the upper thickness of the can, preventing accidental separation of the assembly.

The utility model 200202591 refers, in turn, to a "conservative lid applicable to the mouth of can-cans for drinks or liquids" which is composed of an ovoid body of flexible plastic material in whose upper part there is a recess and in one of its sides has a small handle in an indeterminate and capricious way that can be an advertising medium. The utility model U 200003092 has a "hygienic opening for beverage cans" consisting of a ring, which, when stretched, allows the cylindrical part, which is folded over itself, to be unrolled along its entire length, forming a mouthpiece . It is evident, therefore, that numerous ideas have been analyzed to protect the beverage cans and to provide a comfortable and safe means to drink the liquid but in general they only solve a part of the problems that affect the can and to which we have referred to above. The reality is that the solutions provided, many of which are similar in their approaches, have not been developed either industrially or commercially.

The purpose of this utility model has substantially differentiating characteristics with respect to the aforementioned antecedents since part of a broader concept that allows the closure, and therefore the blocking, of the outlet opening of the contained liquid to be combined and united in the can, the conformation of a mouthpiece or nozzle to drink said liquid, preventing this liquid from being in direct contact with the surface of the can and the possibility of acting as an advertising support.

Basically, this utility model is configured by two pieces linked together that make up a whole, positioned one at a lower level and one at a higher level, that is, one on the other. The first part of the assembly, the lower part, is a piece that forms and delimits the perimeter or contour of the assembly since it is coupled directly into the outlet orifice of the existing liquid in the can and which in turn has a central opening coinciding with said hole. The second part of the assembly is a laminar body of the precise shape and dimensions to fit on the first piece and which acts as a plug, covering the central opening thereof and thus closing the liquid outlet.

Both pieces are linked to each other by means of a joining system that allows the lower part to be fixed in position and coupled to the hole liquid outlet, acting as a mouthpiece, while the upper part has sufficient mobility that allows it to move from a closed position to an opening position of the liquid outlet and vice versa, acting directly as a stopper.

The joining of both pieces is preferably carried out by a hinged or articulated system or by sliding guides, although other joining means that allow the same purpose are not ruled out.

The lower part is a laminar body of plastic material or any other material that allows it, of general prismatic configuration and of the necessary thickness, similar to a ring, that is, with a perimeter edge and a hollow in its center, which has the dimensions necessary to fit perfectly, by pressure, to the exit hole of the liquid thanks to a peripheral recess, practiced on its inner face, which allows it to fit and fit perfectly to the aforementioned hole, maintaining an anatomical conformation that allows its perfect fit into the space between the opening ring of the can and the flange thereof. Thus, this piece has a slight protrusion in the front part that rests on the flange of the can and on which the user supports the lips to drink. At the opposite end, this piece has a slight curvature that follows the approximate profile of the ring of the can.

The upper part has dimensions slightly higher than those of the lower part or ring since its function is to completely cover the hole of the can that the lower ring exposes, acting as a cover.

Both pieces - lower ring and upper cover - can be independent pieces or form a unique and indissoluble body, being joined together by an articulated or hinge system, which can be located anywhere in the perimeter of the assembly. Thus, for example, this hinge or joint can be located in the area near the edge of the can, that is, in the part of the ring that rests on the edge of the can, so that the upper part or lid, when moving, is supported in an upright and inverted position on the side of that same can. If, on the contrary, the hinge or joint is located at the opposite end of the ring, that is, in the part near the ring of the can, the lid, when raised, moves towards the ring and is in a plane horizontal on it, without hindering the user at any time. The joint or hinge between ring and lid can also be located in the lateral area of the assembly, in this case opening the lid to the corresponding side and being partially or completely supported on the can. In all cases, the top or upper part has on its lower face a recess with the same shape and diameter as the ring, which allows it to be coupled by pressure to the said ring. This cover also has a tongue-like extension to facilitate its fastening and its opening and closing.

When the two parts of this innovation - cap and ring - are joined by a sliding guide system, the ring basically maintains the same configuration, but incorporates in its upper part and in a position close to the curved end next to the ring bumps as a stop and a guide point for the displacement of the lid or upper part.

On the other hand, this upper part or cover has, in its internal face, gutters as guides that allow a movement of movement in advance and backward movement of the lid itself, which moves by covering or uncovering the orifice of exit of the liquid. This backward movement is blocked by the action of the stops of the upper face of the ring.

The movement of forward and reverse of the lid can be done interchangeably in one direction or another, always maintaining the stops described at the end of travel. In this way, the lid can move towards the opposite end of the can, moving on top of it and being supported on it, in what would be the most logical and functional movement, but can also move in the opposite direction, from way that The lid tilts on the edge of the can and is in a vertical position resting on the side of it.

The description made so far always refers to two pieces located in different planes, one lower and one upper, that is, a ring coupled to pressure in the outlet orifice of the liquid and a cover that fits on the ring. However, technically it is also possible to place both parts of the assembly at the same level or plane, so that the movable part or cover fits into the central cavity of the piece or ring coupled in the hole of the can. In this case, the movement of this movable part or cover cannot be either by hinge or articulation or by sliding guides but simply executes a movement of vertical displacement, moving from a horizontal position to a vertical position, so that it remains at an angle straight with respect to another piece. In this case, the lid has two tabs or lateral fins that form, next to the horizontal base of the lid, which is now in an upright position, a drinking mouth.

When the lid passes from the vertical position to the original horizontal position, and therefore closes and remains in the same horizontal plane as the base ring, these lateral fins or flanges are inserted into the can through the same exit hole of the liquid

This same innovation can be presented by combining some of the characteristics described so far so that the configuration of the device facilitates greater comfort of use. In this sense, when the union between the upper part and the lower part is carried out by means of a hinge or similar articulation system, and the upper part moves towards the ring of the can, the lower part has a frontal extension as a perpendicular skirt which acts as a lip balm and configures the mouthpiece itself.

It is also provided that the central opening of the lower part, which corresponds to the outlet opening of the can liquid, incorporates a bar of transverse protection of small dimensions but that is sufficient to act as a brake for any foreign body that may pass through said opening and cause damage to the user. This could be the case, for example, of the metal tongue of the can which, previously stamped, moves towards the inside of it at the time of opening the can and could suffer an accidental breakage.

The adjustment of the device claimed in the liquid outlet opening of the can is carried out both with the presence of the external ring and with the absence thereof, therefore being the use of the device independent of the said ring. In fact, whatever the angle of approach of the device to the can, the adjustment is always correct and precise. The only difference that implies the presence of the ring is that, in this case, the approximation is made with a slight oblique angle while without ring, this approximation can be achieved through a vertical adjustment.

In order to guarantee a better tightness, the device can incorporate an O-ring or element of similar characteristics that, located between the upper part or cover and the lower part or base of the device allows adjusting the contact between both parts and ensuring more precisely the closure of the claimed device.

Finally, it is important to note that the difference in elevation between the lip protector or front skirt and the internal part of the device allows an additional margin that allows considering the adjustment of the piece to different amplitudes of opening of the cans, that is to say the same device adaptable to different openings.

Regarding the external characteristics of the device, it is important to highlight that it can incorporate distinctive and differentiating, magnetized, adhesive, screen-printed and / or embossed elements that can be used for promotional purposes or as collectibles and also incorporate fluorescent dye, embossed marks or other signs to facilitate the recognition of the product for the blind.
