Abstract

A connector (1) for a skirting board masking the expansion space of the floor, contains a wall with a blade at the upper end and a distancing foot at the lower end, the ends of the wall of the connector (1) being provided with joining elements (2, 3) that enable integration of the connector with another like connector on the outer corner of a wall (16) of a room. Preferably the joining elements consist in tongues (2) and dents (3) of rectangular cross-section, such that the tongues (2) at the one end of the connector correspond to the dents (3) at the other end of the connector. Alternatively the joining elements can consist in protruding pins and corresponding holes.

Description

Skirting board connector
The subject of the invention is a connector of the skirting board which masks the expansion joint space of the floor.
Description of application P-346028 discloses a skirting board fastened to the wall with a connector. The connector is a plate whose one end has an offset ending with an elastic blade, and the other end of the plate is ended with a perpendicularly positioned foot which enables resting the connector on the floor while marking the spot where the pin hole is to be drilled in the wall, and enables resting the connector on the floor and fastening same on the proper elevation. The connector has at least one elongated hole through which it is fastened to the wall by the pin.
Application PCT/PL2004/000085 discloses a clip for joining connectors of the skirting board on the outer corner of the wall. The clip has the form of a plate with a narrowing, and the clip has protrusions which co-operate disconnectably with the holes of the connectors of the skirting board. Distances between protrusions of the clip and distances of the holes from the edges of the connectors are so selected that, after the assembly, the connectors are in contact with each other on the edge of the wall. This solution enables firm fastening of the outer corner element on two connectors of which only one is secured to the wall, but it requires using an additional connecting element.
The essence of the solution as described in the invention consists in that the ends of the wall of the connector are provided with joining elements which allow their integration on the corner of the wall of the room. The joining elements are tongues and dents of rectangular cross-section so situated that the tongues at the one end of the connector have corresponding dents at the other end of the connector, with the tongues preferably being provided with locking flanges.
The joining elements can also be shaped as protruding pins and corresponding holes at the other end of the connector, said pins and said corresponding holes being cylindrical in shape.
Preferably, the pins are provided with flanges and the corresponding holes have an open outline with oblique surfaces. The flanges additionally protect firmness of the connection, and the oblique surfaces ease introducing the pins into the open outlines of the holes. The pins and the corresponding holes may be in the shape of polygons. It is preferable that the holes have one open edge, and the pins of polygonal cross-section are provided with flanges.
The invention also includes the embodiment wherein said pins and said corresponding holes are rectangular in cross-section.
The solution as described in the invention enables fastening an outer corner element masking the ends of the skirting board on two connectors, only one of which is fastened to the wall of the room, without using any additional element to integrate the connectors.
The subject of the invention is presented in an embodiment in the drawing where Fig. 1 presents a perspective view of the connector with joining elements in the form of tongues and dents, Fig. 2 - a view of the connector with joining elements in the form of cylindrical pins and corresponding open holes situated on the other side of the connector, Fig. 3 - a view of the connector with joining elements in the form of polygonal pins and corresponding open holes, Fig. 4 - a view of connectors integrated by elements in the form of tongues and dents, Fig. 5 - a view of the connector with joining elements in the form of pins and corresponding rectangular holes, Fig. 6 - a view of the connector with joining elements in the form of pins and corresponding holes of cylindrical outline, and Fig. 7 - a view of connectors integrated by elements in the form cylindrical pins and corresponding holes.
The ends of the wall of the connector 1 are provided with joining elements which allow their integration on the corner of the wall t6 of the room. In Fig. 1 , the joining elements are appropriately situated tongues 2 and dents 3 of rectangular cross-section. Corresponding to the tongues 2 on the one side of the connector are dents 3 situated on the other side of the connector at the same height, with the tongues 2 being provided with flanges 4. The flanges additionally secure firmness of integration of the connectors, and oblique surfaces of the tips of the tongues 2 ease introduction of the tongues 2 into the dents 3.
In the embodiment presented in Fig. 2 the joining elements are in the shape of cylindrical pins 6 and corresponding holes 5 of open outline, situated at the same height on the other side of the connector. The inlets of the holes 5 have oblique surfaces 7 to ease introduction of the pins 6 into the holes 5. The pins 6 are provided with flanges 8. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the holes 9 are of polygonal outline with one edge open, and the corresponding pins IQ of polygonal outline have flanges H.
The embodiments presented in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 illustrate connectors with holes of closed outline, where in the embodiment in Fig. 5, the pins 12 and corresponding holes .13 are rectangular in outline, and in the embodiment shown in Fig. 6, the pins 14 and corresponding holes 15 are cylindrical in outline.
Fig. 7 presents integration of the connectors 1 on the comer of a wall 16 in a room by elements in the form of pins and cylindrically-outlined holes.
