BASE COMPOSITION FOR ANTI-WRINKLE OF LIPS, LIPSTICK CONTAINING THE SAME AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips capable of being stably mixed with other components when it is added to a lipstick, a lipstick including the same and a manufacturing method thereof.
BACKGROUND ART Generally, a lipstick composition is composed of oily components comprising oil and wax, and pigment components, and the oily components give a softening effect and a suitable feeling and the pigment displays a variety of colors.
It has been known that skin of the lips has a property of losing moisture at several times higher rate than that of other skins since the lips' stratum corncum is extremely thinner than general skins and its natural moisturizing factor and water content are low. Accordingly, there are many attempts to improve a moisturizing effect in the lips, as well as attempts to present various colors.
However, wrinkles are easily formed in a lip skin tissue and its neighboring tissue under the environmental conditions such as dry weather since moisture is rapidly lost in the skin of the lips, as described above. Therefore, there has been developed the lipstick that functions to facilitate physiologic activity of the lip skin to improve the anti-wrinkle effect on the lips.
Japanese Patent Application Publication No. H4-117317 discloses a cosmetic
material for anti-wrinkle of lips including retinol ester derivatives, ascorbic acid and its derivatives, tocopherol and its derivatives, riboflavin and its derivatives and oil. However, the retinol derivatives included in the cosmetic material are completely different from the retinol having the anti-wrinkle effect, and therefore the derivatives may not function to show the anti-wrinkle effect due to the absence of its activity. Also, the ascorbic acid derivatives don't effectively show the anti-wrinkle effect of the lips due to its slight stability and efficacy when they are simply mixed with oil base.
Also, Korea Patent Laid-open Publication No. 2002-0003480 discloses the lipstick including water-soluble polypeptide to take anti-wrinkle and moisturizing effects on the lips. However, the lipstick according to this invention should necessarily include fatty acids such as stearic acid and others, and surfactants such as sorbitan isostearate and others so as to stabilize the water-soluble peptide components, an active component for anti-wrinkle, in the lipstick, which may increase a possibility to cause an irritation in the sensitive skin tissue of the lips. In addition, Korea Patent Publication No. 10-0262176 proposes the stick-type cosmetic material for lips which includes retinoid such as retinol, retinoic acid and others to prevent wrinkle and toughness of the lips. However, the retinoid component is easily oxidized due to its bad stability to oxidation when it is exposed to the air for a long time or applied to the lips, resulting in loss of its activity. Therefore, the retinoid component has a problem that the anti-winkle effect is deteriorated with the passage of time.
Recently, Attention has been drawn to the asiaticoside as a substance having an excellent anti-winkle effect (see Korea Patent Laid-open Publication No. 2001 -88095).
The asiaticoside is a natural material extracted from Centella asiatica, etc. and has an excellent effect of facilitating synthesis of collagen, and therefore it does nearly show irritation to skin. However, the asiaticoside has a problem that it is not stably miscible with the lipstick components mainly composed of oily components such as oil and wax.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
Accordingly, the present invention is designed to solve the problems of the prior art, and therefore it is an object of the present invention to provide a base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips having an excellent anti-wrinkle effect, and also capable of being safely used nearly without showing irritation in sensitive skin tissues of the lips since the asiaticoside is stably maintained as the active component for anti-wrinkle in a lipstick when it is mixed with other lipstick components; a lipstick including the same; and a manufacturing method thereof.
In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips in which the asiaticoside as an active component for anti-wrinkle of lips is mixed with a base comprising galactosylceramide, cholesterol, polyhydric alcohol and liquid oil. Such a base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips is used to prepare a lipstick by adding the base composition to a lipstick composition composed of oily components consisting of wax and oil, and pigment, mixing them homogeneously, and then by molding the resultant product into a predetermined shape of lipstick. The manufactured lipstick shows the sufficient anti-wrinkle effect of lips without showing irritation in sensitive skin tissues of the lips since the asiaticoside is stably maintained as the active component for anti-wrinkle in the manufactured lipstick.
BEST MODES FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.
The asiaticoside is represented by the following Formula 1 and is a compound (C48H78O19; Mean molecular weight: 959.15) with an excellent anti-winkle effect, which nearly shows no irritation in skins because it is a natural material extracted from Centella asiatica and others (see Korea Patent Laid-open Publication No. 1990-13974). <Formula 1>
However, the asiaticoside itself has not been easily used in a lipstick since it is hard to stably mix with other lipstick components mainly composed of oily components consisting of oil and wax due to its water-solubility, as described above. Accordingly, there have been many attempts conducted by the present inventors, and then a base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips including the stabilized asiaticoside
is developed by mixing the asiaticoside with a base comprising galactosylceramide, cholesterol, polyhydric alcohol and liquid oil Such a base composition for anti- wrinkle of lips of the present invention can show the specific anti-wrinkle efficacy of the asiaticoside since the asiaticoside is stably maintained in the base composition even when it is mixed with other lipstick components
The asiaticoside, which is an active component for anti-wπnkle ot lips mixed and stabilized in the base composition for anti-wrmkle of lips of the present invention, show an excellent safety to human body, as well as stability to oxidation Accordingly, the lipstick of the present invention including the asiaticoside continues to show the anti-winkle effect stably even if it is used for a long time Preferably, the asiaticoside has a content of 0 01 to 20 % by weight, based on the total weight of the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips If the asiaticoside has a content of less than 0 01 % by weight, it does not show the anti-winkle effect due to the small content of the active component, and if its content exceeds 20 % by weight, it is difficult to show stability when the base composition is mixed with a lipstick
Also, the galactosylceramide is a compound that has a similar structure to a corneous component which functions to control water evaporation in the skin, and has a significant effect of stabilizing hydrophilic asiaticoside and the following polyhydric alcohol components Preferably, the galactosylceramide is added in the range of 1 to 60 % by weight of the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips If the galactosylceramide has a content of less than 1 % by weight, it is difficult to effectively stabilize water-soluble asiaticoside and polyhydric alcohol components in a lipstick when the base composition is mixed with the lipstick, and if the galactosylceramide
exceeds 60 % by weight, viscosity of the lipstick mixed with the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips and the base composition may be extremely increased.
Also, the cholesterol shows an effect of increasing solubility of the galactosylceramide in the base for anti-wrinkle of lips. Preferably, the cholesterol has a content of 0.1 to 40 % by weight. If the cholesterol has a content of less than 0.1 % by weight, it does not sufficiently have the aforementioned effect, and if the cholesterol exceeds 40 % by weight, viscosity of the base for anti-wrinkle of lips may be extremely increased.
Meanwhile, the polyhydric alcohol has a moisturizing effect as known in the prior art, and also an effect of homogeneously dissolving the asiaticoside in the base for anti- wrinkle of lips. Such a polyhydric alcohol includes, but is not limited to, glycerine, 1 ,3-butyleneglycol, dipropyleneglycol, sorbitol, etc. The polyhydric alcohol is preferably used in an amount of 0.1 to 60 % by weight in the base for anti- wrinkle of lips in terms of stabilization of the water-soluble asiaticoside and polyhydric alcohol. Also, the oil, liquid at room temperature, is included in the base for anti-wrinkle of lips, and the liquid oil may include hydrocarbon-based oil, ester-based oil, higher alcohol liquid at room temperature, which are generally used in the lipstick. Preferably, the liquid oil has a content of 0.1 to 50 % by weight, and it may maintain a suitable viscosity of the base and stability of the water-soluble asiaticoside and polyhydric alcohol within the range.
The base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips is prepared by homogeneously mixing the above-mentioned components, i.e. asiaticoside, galactosylceramide, cholesterol, polyhydric alcohol and liquid oil. And then, a lipstick having a function of
anti-wrinkle of lips can be manufactured by adding the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips as the active component to a conventional lipstick composition composed of oily components consisting of wax and oil, and pigment, mixing them homogeneously, and molding the resultant mixture into a predetermined shape of form of lipstick. The base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips is preferably added to the lipstick composition with the content of 0.1 to 50 % by weight, based on the total weight of the lipstick. If the base composition has a content of less than 0.1 % by weight, it has an insufficient anti-wrinkle effect of lips due to the low content of the active component asiaticoside, and if it exceeds 50 % by weight, it is undesirable because viscosity of the lipstick itself may be excessively increased, and therefore inherent usability of the lipstick may be obstructed.
In addition to the above-mentioned base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips, waxes, oils, coloring agents, UV-blocking agents, dispersants and so on, which are generally added to the lipstick, may be added to the lipstick without departing from the purpose of the invention.
The lipstick of the present invention including the base composition for anti- wrinkle of lips composed of the aforementioned components shows very excellent anti-wrinkle effect of lips and excellent safety to skin upon its application to the skin of the lips because the asiaticoside is stably maintained as the active component for anti-wrinkle in the lipstick, although the skin of the lips is easily influenced by various environmental conditions such as dry weather, and therefore easily wrinkled because it is extremely thinner than other general skins, and has low contents of natural moisture components. In addition, the lipstick of the present invention may show a sufficient
moisturizing effect upon its application to the lips since moisture ingredients included in the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips is also stably mixed with other lipstick components which is an oil base.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail. Therefore, the description proposed herein is just a preferable example for the purpose of illustrations only, not intended to limit the scope of the invention, so it should be understood that other equivalents and modifications could be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It should be understood that the preferred embodiments of the present invention will be fully described, as apparent to those skilled in the art.

All components except the component 13 were homogeneously dispersed in the Examples 1 to 7 and Comparative examples 1 to 3, the aqueous dye Blue No 1 was added as an indicator to visualize precipitation of the water-soluble components, and then forcibly dispersed and defoamed. The defoamed composition was put into a test tube, kept at 80 °C for 10 minutes, cooled to room temperature, and then dispersion stability of the water-soluble components for anti-wrinkle of lips in the lipstick was
evaluated, as follows.
- Good: O (Stable without precipitation of the water-soluble components for anti-wrinkle)
- Not bad: Δ (The water-soluble components for anti-wrinkle slightly precipitated)
Bad: X (Very unstable with a very large amount of precipitation of the water-soluble components for anti-wrinkle) Safety evaluation
An animal patch test was conducted for 48 hours in a Guinea Pig to evaluate a level of irritability.
- Non-irritability : O (No erythema and edema)
A little irritability: Δ (Very slightly induced erythema and edema) Intermediate irritability: X (Apparent erythema and edema) Evaluation of moisturizing effect Lipsticks were prepared from the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips prepared by homogeneously dissolving all components except the component 12 in the Examples 1 to 7 and Comparative examples 1 to 3. The resultant lipstick was applied to inner arms of eight examinees, and then a moisturizing effect was evaluated by measuring a change of moisture retention capacity with the passage of time after 3 hours of its application using a Corneometer.
Good: O (After 3 hours, based on the initial application time: at least 10 % of increased moisture retention capacity)
- Not bad: Δ (After 3 hours, based on the initial application time: 5 to 10 % of increased moisture retention capacity)
Bad: X (After 3 hours, based on the initial application time: less than 5 % of increased moisture retention capacity) The results of the aforementioned evaluation are listed in the following Table 3.
Table 3
Referring to the results of the Table 3, the lipsticks of Examples 1 to 7 according to the present invention showed excellent properties such as the anti-winkle effect on the lips, the moisturizing effect, the safety and so on, compared to the lipstick of Comparative example 1 composed of only an oil base, the conventional lipstick component, and the lipstick of Comparative example 2 in which glycerine was stabilized using sorbitan oleate and others.
It was revealed that the lipstick of Comparative example 1 composed of the conventional components showed significantly deteriorated anti-wrinkle and moisturizing effects, while the lipstick of Comparative example 2 in which glycerine was stabilized using the surfactant sorbitan oleate showed an excellent moisturizing
effect but no anti-winkle effect, and also has a safety problem due to the irritative surfactant. Also, the lipstick of Comparative example 3 to which water-soluble retinol was simply added as a component for anti-wrinkle did not effectively have an anti-winkle effect because the retinol was not stably dispersed in the lipstick. On the other hand, the lipsticks for anti-wrinkle of lips prepared in Examples 1 to 7 showed the excellent anti-winkle effect on the lips, as well as the excellent safety and the excellent moisturizing effect.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY As described above, the lipstick including the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips according to the present invention is useful to show very excellent anti-wrinkle effect of lips and excellent safety to skin upon its application to skin of the lips because the asiaticoside is stably maintained as an active component for anti-wrinkle in the lipstick, although the skin of the lips is easily influenced by various environmental conditions such as dry weather, and therefore easily wrinkled because it is extremely thinner than other general skins, and its natural moisture components is very low. In addition, the lipstick of the present invention is useful to show the sufficient moisturizing effect upon its application to the lips since moisture ingredients included in the base composition for anti-wrinkle of lips is also stably mixed with the lipstick which is an oil base.
