Abstract

The invention relates to processes for the preparation of a crystalline polymorphic form of olanzapine. More particularly, it relates to the preparation of a crystalline polymorphic form of olanzapine designated as Form X and to pharmaceutical compositions that include the polymorphic Form X. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of a methanol solvate of olanzapine and a process for using such solvate.
