Abstract

La présente invention permet de mesurer un écoulement par ultrasons Doppler et, en particulier, par l'analyse du spectre du signal ultrasonore réfléchi. On mélange électroniquement le signal réfléchi au signal transmis dans un détecteur de produit, un démodulateur ou un composant similaire afin d'obtenir un signal décalé en fréquence. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le procédé consiste à analyser le spectre des rayons ultrasonores réfléchis en procédant aux étapes suivantes: (a) on détermine une fréquence maximale du signal de sortie du détecteur qui est représentative d'une vitesse de particule maximale; et (b) on calcule un écoulement total de particules sur la base de la fréquence de particule maximale.
