Abstract

Le capot (1) selon l'invention comporte une couche extérieure (5) fine, légère et frangible, qui entre en plasticité ou se rompt rapidement en cas d'impact crânien permettant ainsi de dissiper une partie de l'énergie du choc. Sous cette couche extérieure, se trouve une couche (4) plus épaisse de matériau amortissant, léger et présentant un module d'élasticité faible et un important plateau de plasticité dans le but de décélérer la tête de façon optimale. Le capot est préférentiellement divisé en deux zones (7, 8) optimisées spécifiquement pour l'enfant et l'adulte. Le capot peut également comporter une couche intérieure (6) pouvant se rompre en cas de contact avec le bloc moteur. Cette invention intéresse les fabricants de véhicules et d'équipements pour ces véhicules.
