Interior decoration plasterings and method for production
The subject of the invention is interior decoration plasterings and method to produce aesthetic surface with interior decoration plasterings binding easily, to be cleaned easily, removable and of high air-permeability.
Nowadays there is an ever-growing demand to produce interior wall surfaces with diverse surface forms. Beside white-wash and tapestry, application of interior decoration plasterings is more and more widespread. Constructing industry uses mainly for this purpose scratch-coats developed for outdoor use. However this scratch-coat has no such characteristics, that are necessary for interior use, that is quick binding, appropriate air-permeability, good adhesion and one of the most important features, that it is easily removable, cleanable, and abradable.
The history of constructing industry has been characterized by experiments and developing intention to achieve the best possible results in the composition of interior decoration plasterings by choosing the rate of materials within the mixture. That is, the use of interior decoration plasterings can be more practical and wide-spread in case it binds quickly, in given case air-permeability is good, it has good adhesion, it is aesthetic and later easily removable, cleanable and abradable.
It is widely well-known, that constructing industry uses different interior decoration plasterings for several applications. Interior decoration plasterings are of different types according to application as well as according to denomination, e.g. it is well-known the liquid decorating tapestry, or scratch-coat Interior decoration plasterings are usually additives, the mixture of water and binding material.
The issues to be solved by the invention are as follows: Air-permeability of decoration plasterings in the state of art is mostly limited, as they were invented for the purpose of outdoor wall applications. This interior decoration plasterings ensures appropriate airing of walls, which is important from the point of view of natural airing of interior walls.
The other issue to be solved was the removal of interior decoration plasterings. In our world of quick changes we have to be prepared to establish or adapt to new environments within the shortest possible time. In case we grow tired of this interior decoration plasterings, then it can be removed faster compared to previous ones by so-called soaking and scraping off. It simply means, that if we want to apply a brand new plastering, then the existing interior decoration plasterings can be removed without difficulty, without any unnecessary hammering to apply interior decoration plasterings of new structure meeting the demand, or do up the wall surface by traditional methods.
The third important issue to be solved is to avoid facing the difficulty of applying interior decoration plasterings on a so-called inferior base surface e.g. mud wall, or lasting painting or lime-wash without changing it. Practically it means, that e.g. in case of rough, not uniform surface it is possible to apply interior decoration plasterings without touching this surface so, that
the effect of the rough surface can not be noticed. It is well-known for experts, that it is not possible to apply scratch-coat meant for outdoor use on an interior wall with traditional painting without thorough priming.
Issue number four to be solved is the period of storing taking into consideration the warranty period of six months of cement, one of the most important components of most decoration plasterings and scratch-coats.
Hungarian patent HU 209 275 makes known a decorating plaster product in the state of art containing plastic and inorganic binding materials. The invention relates to a decorating plaster product containing inorganic and organic binding materials to be applied as a plaster. The characteristic feature of the product is the composition, it contains 8-15 mass-part of plastic dispersion (40-54 m%), 2-5 mass-part of waterglass of potassium or sodium base, 65-80 mass-part of fine stone rubble and mixed thickener beside other auxiliary and additive materials promoting film production. This case the binding material is waterglass, cellulose is added to it in given case.
Hungarian patent HU 216 298 makes known compositions of gypsum base, wallcovering sheet to be applied as construction and plaster material as well as the method of .production relates to a complex material of improved quality, which is produced by mixing ground gypsum with a material of stronger structure, so-called 'host-particles' for example fibre-board is ground into a watery suspension, the suspension is heated under pressure into calcium-sulfate chemi-hidrate, then the hot suspension is practically dehydrated before changing chemi-hidrate into gypsum again. The "material obtained this way is such a homogenous mass, which contains gypsum crystals physically binding with the separate 'host-particles'. The invention relates to wall-covering sheets of improved quality as well, which has excellent resistance to fire, stabile size and outstanding strength. It is produced by pressing the complex mass of materials to get the final form before hydrating. This case cellulose applied together with gypsum is used to moderate/restrain binding of gypsum.
Hungarian patent HU 210 564 makes known a method for plastering wet and/or salting walls, which is characterized by that a sprinkled base plaster containing water-repellent additive as well as additive forming air pores and/or porous light additive is applied directly to the entire surface, then after binding the restoring plaster is applied. The characteristic of the mortar described in the invention is, that it contains water-repellent additives, such as silicone, metal soap, ammonium salts of fatty acid as well as additives forming air pores and/or porous light additives besides materials capable of binding in water. The solution described here is a water-repellent system of lime-cement binding, where cellulose is used in given case as additive.
Hungarian patent HU 194 136 describes a dry scratch-coat of dolomite base of high strength, which can be stored for a long time, as well as a method producing it. In the composition of the dry mortar made known here 73-77 mass% calculated on the total mass of additive of dolomite rubble of ideal space-filling, nearly regular shape, mainly cubic, strictly classified, at least of two particle fractions, 4-6 mass% of hydraulic binding
material of cement and 18 mass% of lime-hydrate, 0.3-0.5 mass% of coloring additives are applied. During the process the particle fraction is pre-mixed, then during intensive mixing the water-repellent materials, coloring materials, th,en the hydraulic binding materials are added. As binding materials of scratch-coats traditionally cement and lime- hydrate are used, as additive first class stone rubble of maximum 5 mm particle size and sand of T7 class can be used.
The disadvantage of scratch-coats, e.g. 'Baumit' is, that according to the producer's specifications they are not suitable for use on fresh lime-plaster, or on lacquer, respectively oil layer and on plastic coating.
On basis of the above the aim of my invention can be summarized as follows: The objective of the invention is, to ensure, that interior plasters ranging f om the finest to the roughest particles can be applied on walls meeting all demands. At the same time the colored stones ensure an extraordinary varied finish, of good airing, which can be produced economically, can be easily applied, but can be easily removed from the wall nevertheless can be applied on a treated, painted or washed surface.
When working out the solution according to the invention it was further aimed to develop a plaster, which can be applied to special surfaces as well besides traditional surfaces, for example plasterboard, lacquer, oil layer as well as plastic coats, furthermore on mud- walls.
When working out the solution according to the invention it was realized, that in case we use 50-90 mass% of powder-like stone rubble classified 00, and 10-50 mass% of stone- powder or stone rubble sieved to suitable size of 1-10 mm, as well as 2-5 mass% of cellulose-base binding materials, preferably tapestry adhesive, then the set aim can be achieved.
The invention is interior decoration plasterings, which is of medium strength, to be applied particularly indoors, can be stored for a long time, which is characterized by that, it contains 50- 90 mass% of powder-like stone rubble classified 00, and 10-50 mass% of stone-powder or stone rubble sieved to suitable size of 1-10 mm, as well as 2-5 mass% of cellulose- base binding materials, preferably tapestry adhesive.
In one of the preferred productions of the interior decoration plasterings according to the invention the stone-powder or stone rubble is of 1-2 mm and/or 2-3 mm, and/or 3-4 mm, and/or 4-5 mm, and/or 5-6 mm, and/or 6-7 mm, and/or 7-8 mm and/or 8-9 mm and/or 9-10 mm particle size, strictly classified dolomite and/or limestone and/or andesite and/or gravel and/or sand.
In another preferred production of the interior decoration plasterings according to the invention the cellulose-base adhesive is preferably water soluble tapestry-adhesive, caiboxy-methyl- cellulose, which is preferably applied in 2-3 mass%.
In a further preferred production of the interior decoration plasterings according to the invention the raw material of the stone rubble is dolomite or limestone or andesite.
In a further preferred production of the interior decoration plasterings according to the invention in given case colored, ground plastic particles of 1-5 mm size are mixed into it, these particles appear after polishing the surface of the interior decoration plasterings in the form of small dots.
The invention is further a method for producing interior decoration plasterings primarily interior decoration plasterings of medium strength, to be applied particularly indoors, which can be stored for a long time. The method is characterized by that, the cellulose- base binding material, preferably tapestry-adhesive is mixed in water till clear-stemmed, then 50-90 mass% of powder-like stone rubble classified 00, and 10-50 mass% of stone- powder or stone rubble is added, mixed butter-like, then the material compiled is mixed again 10-15 minutes after mixing, then it is applied on the prepared wall, then after binding the surface can be used.
In one of the preferred applications of the method according to the invention the application of the material takes place with the use of a polishing iron made of stainless steel.
In another preferred application of the method according to the invention after application of the material a tree-bark imitation is created by using a rubber cylinder.
In another preferred application of the method according to the invention after application of the plastering appropriate structure is achieved by a polystyrene pohshing device in case of an abraded or scraped surface.
In another preferred application of the method according to the invention the ready surface is to be polished and/or painted.
The solution according to the invention is set forth by the following examples: Examples of composition of the mixture :
Example 1 : Composition of rubbed or abraded plaster: stone rubble classified 00 80-82 % stone-powder (sieved to 1 -4 mm) 16-18 % cellulose-base preferably tapestry adhesive CMC 2 %
CMC is a water-soluble cellulose base adhesive, carboxy-methyl-cellulose.
Example 2: Composition of rubbed or abraded plaster containing colored plastic particles stone rubble classified 00 80 % stone-powder (sieved to 2 mm) 12 % colored plastic particles (2-5 mm) 6 % cellulose-base, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC 2 %
CMC is a water-soluble cellulose base adhesive, carboxy-methyl-cellulose.
Examples of applying the method using the mixture:
Example I
80-82 mass% of double-ground artificial stone, and 16-18 mass% of stone-powder sieved to appropriate particle-size, and 2 mass% of cellulose-base binding materials, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC is mixed, then water is added in a quantity, which gives a butter-like material. Then it is applied on the wall with a polishing stainless steel, however in case of using a polisher made of polystyrene, abraded or rubbed surface can be made, nevertheless a tree-bark imitation can be produced as well, if after application with a polishing stainless steel a suitable rubber-cylinder is used. In case only two-thirds of the above mentioned 16-18 mass% of stone-powder sieved to appropriate particle-size is used and the balance one-third is replaced with colored ground, sieved plastic particles, then it can be achieved at abraded or rubbed stucco with polishing, that the colored plastic particles appear on the wall surface lending a special effect to the interior decoration plastering.
Example II
80-82 mass% of double-ground powder-like stone rubble, and 16-18 mass% of strictly classified stone-powder sieved to appropriate particle-size, 2 - 7 mm size, ranging to 0 - 2 mm, or 0 - 3 mm, or 0 - 4 mm, or 0 - 5 mm, or 0 - 6 mm, or 0 - 7 mm is mixed, and in given case colored, ground plastic particles are added, which appear on the wall in the form of small dots. The composition is mixed with 2 mass% of cellulose-base, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC. In case of 15 litres water, one kg of tapestry adhesive is added.
Example III - Special applications:
In case of traditional wall surfaces without plaster, for example in case of raw brick- walls it is necessary to apply a base plaster, where the interior decoration plastering according to the invention is applied to the prepared wall surface. In case of standard encased concrete wall the use of polishing plaster is not necessary, the decoration plasterings according to the invention can be applied directly. In case of rough surfaces a traditional polishing plastering is necessary. In case of mud-walls proper priming is required. This case an ordinary deep-priming is appropriate and sufficient, while in case of different special plasterings special priming is needed.
Preferable applications of the plaster according to the invention:
The invention relates to an interior decoration plasterings of medium strength, to be applied particularly indoors, which can be stored for a long time, can be colored as required, as well as it relates to its production method, which is a dry interior plastering containing 80-82 mass% of double-ground artificial stone, and 16-18 mass% of classified stone-powder, in given case colored, ground plastic particles can be mixed to it, which appear on the wall in the form of small dots regardless the fact what color the interior decoration plasterings are painted later.
2 mass% of cellulose-base, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC is used as binding material.
The particles formed from the sieved stone-powder used for the interior decoration plastering can reach the size of 1-7 mm.
In a possible definite application of the solution according to the invention 80-82 mass% of double-ground artificial stone, and 16-18 mass% of stone-powder sieved to appropriate particle-size, and 2 mass% of cellulose-base, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC is mixed, then water is added in a quantity, which gives a butter-like material.
It is not necessary to dry the stone-ground called artificial stone 00 available in shops in plastic bags. However the material known as stone-powder on the market should be sieved to proper size, and dry afterwards. The latter materials are then intensively mixed, and gradually adding 2 mass% of cellulose-base, preferably tapestry adhesive CMC is gradually added. In case a material containing colored plastic particles is required, then the ground particles of the required color are sieved to the suitable size and added as well, then mixed intensively with artificial stone ground 00 and stone-powder.
The advantages of the solution according to the invention:
The fact, that approximately 80% of this interior decoration plasterings consists of double ground stone, makes it possible the use of cellulose-base adhesive as binding material. Compared to the interior plasterings in the state of art this characteristic makes it possible the easier removal from the wall. As the binding material is not the traditional cement or lime, but an adhesive based on cellulose, which sets after binding, so harmonizing of interior decoration plasterings is easier. It is meant, that merely one worker can do it, as application on the lower parts can follow right after application on the upper part of the wall.
This application makes it possible, that harmonizing of the upper and lower level ,is not visible, it is esthetical for the viewer. In case of a traditional interior plastering the presence of several experts is required, as one of the experts applies material to the upper level from a ladder, the other worker has to work directly following the other to ensure perfect harmonizing.
Summing up: in lack of several experts merely one person can carry out the application of the plaster according the invention. It has to be highlighted that this technical solution is made possible by the use of cellulose-base, preferably CMC tapestry adhesive instead of the traditional cement and lime binding materials, where humidity is quickly absorbed by the wall. In case of using CMC tapestry adhesive the interior plastering becomes butter-like, sticks easier to the wall, can be handled easier, and as CMC adhesive does not set immediately, but only after binding, this characteristic makes it possible for one worker to attend to the whole job.
During its use and mixing it is advantageous, that it does not irritate the worker, it is not harmful for air passages. It is also important, that it is economical, simple, inexpensive and requires only a small amount of investment. Raw materials are available on the market as well.
Compared to solutions in the state of art this decoration plasterings contains ground artificial stone, classified stone-powder, CMC tapestry adhesive of cellulose base, and in given case colored ground plastic particles are added. It also shows, that this decoration plastering defers from traditional scratch-coats as for basic components.
After application the surface can be colored by painting as well. With the colored additives it can be colored in itself as well. In case of the present decoration plastering it can be achieved, that it sticks even to a wall surface without preliminary treatment. It can even be used on mud- walls enforcing the otherwise weak structure.
It is advantageous as well, that the mixed, dry raw material without water can be stored for a longer time and can be used later. The binding material is a cellulose-base adhesive, preferably a tapestry adhesive CMC, so is powder form it can be stored for a year. When mixed with water it can be stored at a suitable temperature (0-15 C) for several days. It is cost-effective, as the superfluous material is not wasted, but can be used at another place.
