Description

Seat with backrest and seat independently reclining and seat depth. adjustable. The subject of the present invention is a seat of the type comprising a seat and a backrest, articulated with respect to each other about an axis of rotation. More specifically, the subject of the present invention is a seat of the aforementioned type, in which said articulation is produced in the form of a pair of means located on either side of the seat relative to the plane of symmetry passing through the backrest and the seat, each of said means consisting, on the one hand, of a first element, forming a support in rotation of the backrest, crossed by said axis of rotation, and one end of which is secured to said
A seat corresponding to such a definition is known from American patent application US2003 / 0011226 A1. It is a car seat comprising an inverted U-shaped part as a backrest frame. 14 and a frame as seat frame 10, said frame being slidably mounted on a support 86. Each free end of the U-shaped piece constitutes what has been called, above, a first element, and the second element of the articulation is a part secured to the frame 10, so that the second element is the seat frame itself. The ends of the U-shaped part are threaded into a slot in the seat frame 10 so that, when the seat frame slides, the back frame can only follow. No means are provided for adjusting the seat depth and such adjustment is quite impossible given the threading of the backrest frame in the seat frame. However, an important element of user comfort is that the depth of the seat is adapted to its size. It is in fact just as unpleasant for a tall person to have thighs protruding far from the front of the seat as for a short person size of not having feet. touching the floor when seated at the back of the seat. The invention proposes to provide a new solution to this problem by combining the back / seat articulation with the adjustment of the seat depth. To this end, according to the invention relates to a seat of the aforementioned type, characterized in that said second element is a part which is
• distincte de l'assise, • solidarisée audit premier élément par le biais dudit axe de rotation traversant ledit second élément au voisinage de l'une de ses extrémités et ledit premier élément,• distinct from the seat, • secured to said first element by means of said axis of rotation passing through said second element in the vicinity of one of its ends and said first element,
• slidingly mounted on a part secured to the seat and • immobilizable in a chosen position relative to this same part, a first expandable / retractable member being anchored, on the one hand, on the end of said first element opposite to that which is secured to the file and, on the other hand, on the end of said second element opposite the axis of rotation. Thanks to this arrangement, as will be developed later, the back support for rotation is movable in translation relative to the seat. In a preferred embodiment, the first expandable / retractable member is a gas spring, that is to say a hydro-pneumatic construction element with cylinder and piston, which makes it possible to pivot the backrest and counterbalance the movement at a controlled speed, under the effect of the only support exerted by the user's bust on the backrest. The force of this support being a function of the weight of the user, it is useful to be able to adjust the gas spring accordingly. To this end, its anchor point on said support in rotation of the backrest is adjustable along said support. Thus, one can choose the length of the stroke of the piston of the gas spring and, therefore, its resistance. The support for sliding the seat advantageously comprises a stop limiting the pivoting of the backrest with respect to the seat. As indicated above, the sliding support of the seat slides with respect to a part secured to the seat and can be immobilized with respect to this same part. The rotating support of the backrest and the sliding support of the seat being secured via the axis of rotation, it follows that the rotating support of the backrest also slides with respect to the piece secured to the seat and that, as a result, the backrest can more or less be brought closer to the free edge of the seat (in other words, the depth of the seat can be more or less great). In reclining seats, such as the seats of motor vehicles and airplanes, the backrest can be more or less inclined with respect to the general plane of the seat which itself remains fixed. There are also known seats in which the inclination of the backrest to the rear causes the seat to tilt upwards, and vice versa. For better comfort, it would however be desirable that, in the same seat, not only the angle between the backrest and the seat can be changed on request, but also that the angle between the general plane of the seat and the soil can also be, and that these two modifications are independent of each other. To this end, the seat according to the invention further comprises a seat support which rests directly or indirectly on the ground and this seat support provides an anchor point for one of the ends of a second expandable / retractable member, the other end of which is anchored to the seat. This second retractable expandable member can be a pneumatic cylinder or an electric cylinder. Thus, it is possible to recline the backrest and the seat independently of each other. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the seat is a relaxation chair and, for this purpose, it further comprises a leg rest. As it is important, here again, that the legrest can be maneuvered independently of the inclination of the backrest and the inclination of the seat, said legrest provides an anchor point for one of the ends of a third expandable / retractable member, the other end of which is anchored on the seat. . This third retractable expandable member can be a pneumatic cylinder or an electric cylinder. Thus, the first, second and third organs - expandable / retractable operate independently of each other. The invention will be better understood on reading the following description made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figures la-lc schematically represent the respective plans of the three main components (seat, backrest and legrest) of an armchair of relaxation according to the invention and Figures Id-lf schematically represent three possible seat depths thanks to the invention; - Figure 2 is a diagram showing the layout of the three expandable / retractable control members; - Figure 3 is a detail view of the area of the articulation between the backrest and the seat and - Figure 4 is a detailed view of the articulation of Figure 3, observed from the rear of the seat ( arrow F in Figure 3). If we refer to Figures la-lc, we see the position occupied by the respective planes of the seat 1, the backrest 2 and the leg rest 3, in the "seated" position (Figure la), 'in relaxation position (Figure lb) and "zero gravity" position (heart lower than the legrest) (figure le). The seat 1 makes, with the backrest 2, an angle α which is variable (αl <α2 <α3) and, with the legrest 3 an angle β which is also variable (βl <β2 <β3), and the variation of α is independent of that of β. The three planes (plane of the seat 1, plane of the backrest 2 and plane of the legrest 3) are movable independently of each other. To this end, as shown in Figure 2, three operating devices are provided. More specifically, the inclination of the seat 1 relative to the ground is obtained by means of a pneumatic cylinder 4 which bears, on the one hand, on said seat 1 and, on the other hand, on a support of seat 5 resting on the ground; the inclination of the backrest 2 relative to the seat 1 is obtained by means of a gas spring 6 which bears, on the one hand, on said seat 1 and, on the other hand, on a part 10 depending on the file 2; and the inclination of the leg rest 3 with respect to the seat 1 is obtained by means of a pneumatic cylinder 7 which bears, on the one hand, on said seat 1 and, on the other hand, on said rest legs. The gas spring 6 is actuated, in one direction, by simply pressing the bust of the user against the backrest 2 and, in the other direction, by simply detaching the back from the backrest and, if necessary if necessary, user support on the armrests (not shown). It is understood that the backrest 2 returns automatically since, when it is tilted by pressing the bust, the gas from the gas spring is compressed and, as soon as the support is released, the gas expands. The pneumatic cylinders 4 and 7 are controlled, in a completely conventional manner, by a push button. The pneumatic cylinders 4 and 7 could be replaced by electric cylinders while retaining the gas spring 6 for maneuvering the backrest 2, or else the gas spring 6 could also be replaced by an electric cylinder. It is understood that the seat 1 pivots around the point P. The seat support 5 is provided with feet which can be adjustable in height. The legrest 3 incorporated in the armchair according to the invention may have the structure described in EP 1 099 396, that is to say a deployable and retractable structure, and which is provided with rollers in constant contact with the ground, casters thanks to which the deployment only needs to be started, most of the deployment movement being effected by the. simple gravity. If we come to Figure 3, it details the articulation zone between the seat 1 and the backrest 2, on one of the side faces of the seat, a symmetrical assembly being located on the other face lateral. Reference 8 designates a part secured to the backrest and reference 9 designates a part secured to the seat. The articulation comprises a first element 10, called "support in rotation of the backrest" and a second element 11, said "support in sliding of the seat", the elements 10 and 11 being joined by an axis of rotation 12. As is the volt, the element 10 is roughly shaped like a policeman's cap, vertically, with the axis of rotation 12 passing through it approximately in the middle. At one of its ends, the element 10 is fixedly mounted on the part 8 secured to the backrest and, at its opposite end, the element 10 offers an anchor point 13 for the rod 14 of the piston of the gas spring. 6, the cylinder 15 of which is anchored at 16 to the second element 11. An adjustment screw 17 makes it possible to move the anchor point 13 and therefore to increase or reduce the stroke of the gas spring piston 6. A stop 18 limits the pivoting of the element 10 and therefore of the backrest 2. As can be better understood from FIG. 4, the element 11 has adjustment holes such as 19 coming opposite slots, such as 20 housed in the part 9, so that the relative position of the element 11 and the part 9 can be changed in translation by sliding and fixed in the chosen position by screwing bolts, such as 21, passing through both a hole 19 and a slot 20. This assembly therefore makes it possible both to adjust the command of the inclination of the backrest as a function of the weight of the user (by playing on the level of the anchor point 13) and that of the depth of the seat. (by playing on the relative position of element 11 and part 9). The result of the seat depth adjustment is illustrated schematically in Figures Id-lf. Figure Id is identical to Figure la and shows a maximum seat depth PI, the base of the backrest 2 coinciding with the rear edge of the seat 1. The figure shows a lower seat depth P2 <P1 by relative displacement between the backrest 2 and the seat 1, with conservation of the angles αl and βl, and Figure If shows an even shallower seat depth P3 <P2 <P1 by relative displacement between the backrest 2 and the seat 1 , and always with conservation of the angles αl and βl. It will be understood that the three positions illustrated are only three examples, any intermediate position being possible and that the modification of the seat depth is possible whatever α and β. It is understood that these adjustments, which involve the use of tools, will generally be made at installation, depending on the person for whom the wheelchair is intended. Thus, the same fireplace can be equipped with two exactly identical armchairs, but one adjusted for a light and small person and the other for a large and heavy person.
