Abstract

The present invention relates to a household appliance (1), the sound power level of which is reduced by an insulation barrier (3) placed at the bottom of the body (2) thereof.

Description

A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE WITH SOUND INSULATION
The present invention relates to a household appliance, the sound power level of which is reduced by shielding plates placed at the bottom section.
Conventionally, household appliances preferably washers/dryers are attempted to be manufactured so that their sound power level is brought to a lrjinimum, for the comfort of the users. However, the noise generators like an engine, running on household appliances, are placed near the lower surfaces not visible and usually left open, and precautions are necessary to mmi ize the noise reflected by the bottom surface. In some devices the bottom of the machine is not left open and machine body is produced with a covered base, to be a closed casing. In these applications, several advantages in noise minimization are gained but problems occur in cost and maintenance applications.
The aim of the present invention is to develop a household appliance with reduced sound power level.
The household appliance designed to fulfill this aim is illustrated on the attached figures where:
Fig. 1 - is a bottom perspective view of a household appliance;
Fig. 2 - is a perspective view of the S detail of a household appliance;
Fig. 3 - is a perspective view of the P detail of an insulation barrier fastened to a household appliance;
Fig. 4a - is a perspective view of a household appliance the bottom sides of which are surrounded by one or more insulation barrier(s) ; Fig. 4b - is a perspective view of a household appliance volume sides of which at bottom surface are surrounded by one or more insulation barrier(s);
Fig. 5 - is a front schematic view of a household appliance;
Fig. 6 - is a perspective view of a section of an insulation barrier fastened to the body by the connection forms;
Elements shown on figures are numbered as follows:
1- Household appliance 2- Body 3- Insulation barrier 4- Leg 5- Insulation chamber
The household appliance (1) comprises a body (2) including the necessary parts for it to operate, one or more leg(s) (4) at bottom side carrying the entire weight and an insulation barrier (3) fastened to the body (2) and/or the legs (4), preventing the connection between the inside of the body and the surroundings, partially or fully surrounding the space (A) between the body and the ground it sits on, preferably by extending from the body (2) to the ground like a curtain or a skirt and providing a decrease in the sound power level by restraining the sound waves between the ground and the body (2).
The insulation barrier (3) comprises one or more insulation chamber(s) (5) formed in the inside section reinforcing the insulation. hi the preferred embodiment, an insulation barrier (3) made of a flexible material is utilized. Thus, as a consequence of its flexible structure, insulation barrier (3) can easily close the space (A) between the household appliance (1) and the ground it sits on, regardless of the nature of the volume or the height of the legs. Therefore it can easily close the volume by squeezing or stretching accordingly, at places where the ground height differs or the plane structure of the ground is deformed even the height settings of household appliance (1) are changed. At the same time, the flexible structure of the insulation barrier (3) provides that the spaces at the bottom of household appliance (1) are closed easily and assembled easily.
In the preferred embodiment of the present mvention, the insulation banϊer (3) is attached to the body (2) afterwards.
In another embodiment of the present invention, an insulation barrier (3) made of a plastic material is used.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the insulation barrier (3) functions as a profile insulation component like a fuse.
In anotlier embodiment of the present invention, the insulation barrier (3) is in the form of a curtain and/or skirt extension integrated to the body (2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, an insulation barrier (3) is utilized, adjusted as preferred according to the heights it is used, in the form of an accordion.
In another embodiment of the present invention, an insulation barrier (3) is utilized, being attached easily by stretching on the legs (4) to cover the space (A) between the body and the ground. In another embodiment of the present invention, an insulation barrier (3) is utilized, having its height adjusted with respect to the working conditions of the household appliance (1) as a consequence of its telescopic structure by opening the mutually inserted parts.
With the embodiment according to the present invention, the connection between the household appliance (1) and its surroundings is blocked just by covering the spaces (A) under the gap without the need of an entire closure of the space under the household appliance (1). Thereby, the sound waves created inside the household appliance (1) are restrained under the household appliance (1) with the help of the insulation barrier (3).
The body (2) is covered with one or more panel(s) so that the operating parts appeals to the user. However, there may be gaps left at the lower section. At the aforementioned situations, besides the insulation function thereof, the insulation barrier (3) according to the present invention provides an aesthetical view to die household appliance (1), by closing the undesired spaces (A) between the household appliance (1) and the ground it sits on, noticed from the outside.
With the insulation barrier (3) according to the present invention, the noise is restrained between the bottom parts of the household appliance (1) and the ground and significant advantages are obtained concerning the reduction of the sound power level. Owing to the isolation of the insulation barrier (3) noise level reduction is achieved without the need of a closed box body structure and at the same time, at the time of a repair and the first installation of the machine a considerable ease is provided, like while disengaging the supports placed in order to prevent the possible damages during transportation.
