Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for closing off a 5 part of an edge barrier during pouring of concrete, comprising an extended profile with one or more erect walls, where the erect wing is split/divided/cut by parallel slits.
- the invention will be referred to as "a slit moulding with a base”.
- edge barrier when pouring concrete, either as a final barrier or as a restriction when multiple successively poured sections are required.
- the edge barrier must be as high as or highers than the desired thickness of concrete.
- Methods for closing off such barriers today comprise use of wooden materials, plastic and nets of metal. Typical for such methods is that they are all time-consuming and provide insufficient flexibility regarding necessaryo accommodation. When using wooden materials these must be removed after curing of the concrete. This is often difficult and time-consuming, as the woodwork often is locked between the reinforcement bars and is often poured over with concrete. Use of net webs is time consuming to5 install and must be adapted to provide a barrier which is sufficiently tight. It is not necessary to remove such nets after pouring. In the construction joints there will be a large number and possibly a different number of reinforcement bars to increase the strength of the concreteo in this area, which further complicates the closing off of this area.
- the object of the present invention is to improve the above-mentioned methods with a view of enabling a simpler installation and improved accommodation.
- US 20030188499 Al discloses a connecting device comprising a hook member for joining a wall to a building frame or for joining walls.
- SE 509380 C2 discloses a metal element for application in a face element for covering facades of buildings.
- a flexible slit moulding for closing off a part of an edge barrier during pouring of a concrete area, comprising an extended profile with one or more erect wings, where the erect wing is slit/divided/cut into parallel vertical slits to form flexible teeth which are arranged to flex when a transverse object is placed on top of the sl ⁇ t moulding.
- Preferred embodiments of the present invention are defined in the appended dependent claims.
- Figure 1 ⁇ s a vertical section of the slit moulding according to the invention
- Figure 2 Is a side view of the slit moulding
- Figure 3 is a top view of the slit moulding
- Figure 4 is a perspective view of the slit moulding
- Figure 5 is a view of the slit moulding placed in the reinforcement (layer A and B)
- Figure ⁇ is side view of a poured section bounded by 2 mouldings with bases and traditional woodwork.
- the edge barrier according to the invention can be defined in five layers A, B, C, D, E see fig. 6.
- Layer A between the bed/ground and the lower edge of the first enforcement layer.
- the thickness (height) of this layer should theoretically be equal over the total area of pouring, however, in practice this is not the case and the distance varies.
- Layer B between the reinforcement bars 13, 16 in the first reinforcement layer.
- the thickness and height of this layer B will vary according to the distance between the reinforcement bars 13, 16, the diameter of the bars 13, 16 and the number of bars in the layer.
- Layer D between the reinforcement bars of the second reinforcement layer.
- the thickness and height of this layer will vary according to the distance between the reinforcement bars, the diameter of the reinforcement bars 14, 15 and the number of bars in the layer.
- the finished construction will comprise concrete and reinforcement bars 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 where the reinforcement bar is to be placed at a defined distance from the bottom and the top. This distance from finished face to the closest constructive reinforcement bar is called cover. This cover (distance) is defined based on which environment/surroundings the concrete construction is applied in. Figure 6 shows these layers A, B, C, D, E.
- the present invention may be applied to close off layer A, 5 B, C and D (fig. 6) .
- the invention will be further described with reference to layers A and B.
- Figure 1 shows a slit moulding 1 comprising a base 2 with one wing 3 arranged substantially perpendicular to the base.
- the wing 3 is positioned vertically on the base 2 ato a distance from the edge 4 of the base 2.
- the base 2 may be provided with a slot 5, which functions as a connection to other products.
- the base 2 may further be provided with holes 6 for attachment of the moulding.
- Figure 2 is a side view of the slit moulding 1 with a bases 2.
- the wing 3 is cut in parallel slits 8 preferably with as narrow slits as possible.
- the wing 3 may be cut all the way down to the base 2 so as to provide an indefinite succession of teeth 7 with optional width.
- Figure 5 shows the slit moulding 1 with a base 2 applied ino a system for reinforcement.
- reinforcement bars 12 are provided in several levels.
- the teeth 7 of the slit moulding will yield to different levels (vl and v2 ) according to the positions of the reinforcement bars 12.
- the slit moulding 1 is retained in position by5 connecting the teeth 7 to the reinforcement bars, for example by use of a string 9.
- the base 2 provides good stability.
- Figure 6 shows a finished poured section with two slit mouldings 1 including a base plate 2 applied in combinationo with a traditional barrier of woodwork 10.
- the profile is rigid, stable and split in slits 8 with teeth 7 which bend and conform when the reinforcement bar is positioned.
- the rest of the teeth 7 in the profile 1 is left standing tall and fill the gap between the 5 reinforcement bars, forming a substantially tight wall facing the concrete during pouring.
- the invention closes off both layer A and layer B independent of the varying distances and diameters of the reinforcement bars 12 (fig. 5) .
- the bent down teeth 7 also provide the opportunity foro easy attachment to the reinforcement bar 12 with e.g. a string 9.
- ans advantageous device is provided for closing off the areas surrounding the reinforcement bars 12 in an end barrier during pouring of floor slabs.
- the device is simple, secure and flexible in use.
- a great advantage is that the product may be positioned before the reinforcement is provided, ino order to avoid working in confined and hard to reach areas when closing off the edge barriers. Due to the fact that the device is stable and the teeth provide a flexible adjustment, the installation and adjustment is simple also in cumbersome positions.
