  • An individual participant enters the addresses or pseudonyms of other participants, for example friends and business partners, into this participant list. The participant thus uses data from other participants to build up the participant list.

  • the object of the invention is to provide in a communication system a method or a device for updating a subscriber list, which offers the individual subscriber accessing the subscriber list an improved possibility of contact.
  • This object is achieved by a method for updating a subscriber list in an instance in a communication system with the features of patent claim 1 or by a device in a communication system for managing and updating a subscriber list with the features of patent claim 11.
  • the starting point here is a method for updating a subscriber list, in particular in the manner of a buddy list, which is set up in an instance in a communication system, preferably a radio communication system.
  • participants communicate via a connection or a radio connection and an access point of the commu nication systems. Communication thus takes place in a manner known per se, for example from one subscriber to another subscriber of a large number of active subscribers or from one subscriber to, for example, a home page on a local and fixed server in the communication system in the case of a data network.
  • data from one of the participants is used when updating the participant list, the data being independent of connection parameters for operating the connection.
  • connection-independent data such as a hobby of the subscriber
  • subscriber in the broadest sense means both a subscriber station or, in the case of the present example, a human operator of such a subscriber station.
  • the data are dependent on a property of the subscriber himself, for example on a hobby or on a current location.
  • the method also provides that the entity updates the subscriber list with respect to the subscriber communicating the data.
  • the instance is understood to mean both a program and a device which is arranged in the communication system and receives data from the subscriber or the subscriber station for updating the subscriber list.
  • the data of the participant communicating with the instance itself is dynamically updated.
  • This procedure is advantageous over a known update of a buddy list as a participant list, since the entity can update the participant list dynamically on its own, without being limited to one participant's express data entries regarding the data of other participants.
  • the procedure offers the advantage of not displaying any participant who is establishing an active connection to the chat room in the list of participants without having to rely on personal characteristics of a natural operator or special requirements of a station as a participant, since the data used for the update depend on a property of the participant to be updated itself.
  • the update of the subscriber list is also independent of connection parameters for operating the connection, so that any subscriber can be listed regardless of specific configurations of the own device, the interface to the communication system or the specifications of the special communication system.
  • a device in a communication system in particular in a radio communication system for managing and updating a subscriber list, with subscribers being entered dynamically updated in the subscriber list depending on data which depend on a property of the subscriber and are independent of connection parameters, is particularly advantageous as a result that an interface, in particular a radio interface or a coupling to an interface for receiving the data from the respective subscriber is provided, the entry of which is to be made or updated in the subscriber list.
  • the device provides a structural instance in the communication system, and it can be spatially, for example, directly in or in connection with an access point for a station of the subscriber. • Addresses are to be understood in the broadest sense.
  • the address can be a contacted Internet address of a specific homepage on a server, for example a homepage with information about jazz.
  • Another example of a contactable address can be the Internet address of a jazz cafe or the Internet address of the access point, i. H. the local radio interface, which is accessed by a subscriber who is located at a specific access location, the access location being, for example, a jazz cafe.

  • Data about voting can be evaluated as content. For example, competitions for jazz musicians can be voted on at the participant station.
  • Contents can also be words or other information which are transmitted by the participant or which are the contents of addresses selected by the participant e.g. a homepage are available.

This makes possible a method in which the instance actively creates a new participant list by evaluating the data of different participants or adds an additional characteristic to an existing participant list. Abstract
