Description

Un autre inconvénient du dispositif de manutention décrit par le brevetThe present invention relates to the technical field of devices for handling a cover element that can be rolled up over a surface in the general sense. The object of the invention finds application in all areas where a surface delimiting a two or three-dimensional space must be covered by a concealing or protective element of a rollable nature such as, for example, a tarpaulin, a curtain or a shutter with blades. The invention is suitable for covering, for example, a swimming pool or a surface delimiting the volume of a vehicle, a container or a room in particular. In the state of the art, there are many solutions allowing the handling of a concealing element above a surface. For example, patent FR 2 789 425 describes a device for covering and uncovering a surface using a rollable covering element, produced in the form of a gantry supported at each end by guide rails arranged along of the surface to be covered. Such a gantry includes a winding mandrel for the covering element, extending transversely above the surface to be covered. Such a device also includes motor means ensuring simultaneously a rotational movement of the winding mandrel and a translational movement of the gantry along the guide rails. A drawback of this solution lies in the need to equip the edges of the space to be covered with guide rails for the gantry, which hinders access to the space to be covered. In addition, such a handling device requires implementing synchronization means between the means for driving the mandrel in rotation and the means for moving the gantry so that such a device has a high cost and a complexity of setting up. implemented. Furthermore, it is also known from document DE 2 257 231, a device for covering and uncovering a surface using a rollable covering element. Such a device is in the form of a gantry comprising a central shaft equipped at each end with a wheel forming part of a remote carriage each other by a measure greater than the width of the surface to be covered. Such a device also comprises a winding and unwinding mandrel for the covering element supported by the two carriages. Such a device also comprises drive means on the one hand of the carriages and on the other hand of the winding mandrel of the covering element. Such a device does not allow the cover element to be wound independently of the movement of the gantry. In general, it should be considered that such a device which has a complex design, does not allow in a simple way, to discover or cover a surface using a covering element. Analysis of the state of the art shows that there appears to be a need for a device for covering and uncovering a surface using a rollable covering element, which does not require installation on the edges of the surface to be covered and having ease of implementation and a reduced manufacturing cost. The present invention therefore aims to achieve such an objective by proposing a device for covering and uncovering a surface using a rollable covering element, the device being produced in the form of a gantry provided with displacement means ensuring its translation in a given direction above the surface substantially perpendicular to the width of said surface, the gantry comprising on the one hand a central shaft equipped at each end with at least one wheel distant from one another a measurement greater than the width of the surface and on the other hand a winding and unwinding mandrel for the cover element, driven in rotation by drive means. According to the invention, the central shaft is provided with means for guiding in rotation for the mandrel which extends around said shaft while being mounted free in rotation relative to the central shaft and in that the displacement means comprise a manual operating member adapted to allow an effort to be exerted on the gantry in its direction of movement. Advantageously, the displacement means partially support the drive means. According to an exemplary embodiment, the displacement means comprises a support body for the on-board rotational drive means, this support body being supported by the central shaft near a wheel. Preferably, the manual operating member is a suitable grip handle on the support body. Advantageously, the support body is equipped with a rolling member facilitating the movement of the gantry according to its direction of movement. According to one embodiment, the rotation drive means comprise a reduction gear coupled in rotation with the mandrel and with a drive motor member supported by the support body. According to another embodiment, the rotation drive means comprise a gear motor coupled in rotation with the mandrel. Advantageously, the rotary drive means comprise control means in opposite directions to ensure the winding or unwinding of the cover element relative to the mandrel. Another disadvantage of the handling device described by the patent
FR 2 789 425 appears when the cover element aims to cover a basin. Indeed, the cover element is intended to be deposited on the surface of the water in the basin so that such a flexible element is not suitable for supporting a person such as a child falling into the basin . Another object of the invention is to remedy this drawback by proposing a new method for covering and uncovering a surface using a roll-up covering element suitable for supporting the weight of a person. To achieve such an objective, the method consists: - in producing, as a rollable cover element, a self-supporting flap of width greater than the width of the surface, - in dimensioning the gantry so as to be supported by at least the edges longitudinal leaving a space for the shutter with each longitudinal edge of the surface, - hanging the shutter at one end at one of the transverse edges of the surface and at the other end at the motorized mandrel , - and to ensure simultaneously, to cover the surface by the shutter wound on the mandrel, the command in unwinding of the mandrel and the displacement of the gantry so as to deposit the flap above the surface, resting on the support space of at least longitudinal edges. To discover the surface covered by the flap bearing on the longitudinal edges, the method consists in simultaneously ensuring the winding command of the mandrel and the displacement of the gantry above the surface in order to wind the flap on the mandrel. Various other characteristics will emerge from the description given below with reference to the appended drawings which show, by way of nonlimiting examples, embodiments of the subject of the invention. Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a device according to the invention for covering and discovering a surface. Figure 2 is an elevational sectional view taken substantially along lines 11-11 of FIG. 1. In the example illustrated in the drawings, the device 1 according to the invention is intended to cover and uncover, using a rollable covering element 2, a surface 3 delimiting a two or three-dimensional space. The cover element 2 which is shown schematically in FIG. 1, has a rollable character and is capable of assuming a protection and / or concealment function. For example, the rollable cover element 2 is in the form of a tarpaulin, a curtain or a shutter. The device 1 according to the invention thus makes it possible to cover and discover the surface 3 for example of a swimming pool, a container, a vehicle or a meeting room. As shown more precisely in FIG. 2, the device 1 is in the form of a gantry comprising a central shaft 4 equipped at each end with at least one wheel 5 distant from each other by a measurement greater than the width 1 of the surface 3 to cover. The gantry is therefore intended to move above the surface 3 in a direction of translation represented by the letter F, substantially perpendicular to the width 1 of said surface. The wheels 5 thus roll on the longitudinal edges 3χ of the surface 3 to be covered. Preferably, each wheel 5 has a diameter greater than 50 cm and preferably of the order of 60 cm so as to facilitate the mobility of the gantry. According to a preferred embodiment characteristic, each wheel 5 is mounted on the shaft 4 using disengageable mounting means 6. Thus, the disengagement of a wheel 5 relative to the shaft 4 allows the gantry to pivot around the other wheel 5 linked to the shaft 4. For example, the disengageable mounting means 6 can be produced by a connecting pin crossing the axis 4 and the hub 5 of a wheel 5. According to another exemplary embodiment, the wheels 5 can be motorized to ensure the translational movement of the gantry. The device 1 according to the invention also comprises a mandrel 7 for winding and unwinding for the covering element 2. The mandrel 7 extends around the shaft 4 between the two wheels 5. As can be seen more precisely of Fig. 2, the mandrel 7 is guided in rotation by guide means 8 mounted on the central shaft 4. It should be noted that the mandrel 7 is mounted free in rotation relative to the central shaft 4. In other words , there is no angular connection between the mandrel 7 and the central shaft 4. In the example illustrated, the mandrel 7 is supported at each end by a guide bearing 8 mounted on the central shaft 4. The mandrel 7 thus concentrically surrounds the central shaft 4. The device 1 according to the invention also comprises means for driving in rotation 11 the mandrel 7 so as to ensure the winding or unwinding of the cover element 2 around said mandrel. According to a characteristic of the invention, the rotation drive means 11 are on board the gantry. These rotary drive means 11 are equipped with control means not shown making it possible to control the rotation of the mandrel 7 in the two opposite directions of rotation making it possible to select the winding or the unwinding of the covering element 2 around the mandrel 7. The rotary drive means 11 are made in any suitable manner and can be of fluidic, electrical or manual nature. In the example illustrated, the rotary drive means 11 comprise a reduction gear 12 coupled in rotation with the mandrel 7 and with a drive motor member (not shown) supported by a body 13. For example, such a drive member drive is an on-board electric motor mounted inside the support body 13 located at one end of the gantry. According to another alternative embodiment, the reduction gear 12 can be connected to a receiving head for a removable motor, or for a manual drive member. According to yet another variant embodiment, the rotational drive means 11 can be produced by a tubular electric motor interposed between the shaft 4 and the mandrel 7. As can be seen from the above description, the support body 13 is adapted to take up the torque for tilting the rotation drive means 11. In the example illustrated, the support body 13 is supported by the central shaft near a wheel 5 and is in contact with the ground S. According to another characteristic of the invention, the gantry is provided with displacement means 14 ensuring its translation in the direction F. In accordance with the preferred variant embodiment illustrated in the drawings, the displacement means 14 are of the manual type and include a manual operating member 15 adapted to exert a manual force on the gantry in its direction of movement F, as will be explained in the following description. In the illustrated embodiment, the displacement means 14 at least partially support the drive means 11 of the mandrel 7. In this regard, the displacement means 14 are constituted by the support body 13 in the form of 'An arm extending substantially at right angles to the central shaft 4 and ending with the operating member 15 such as a grip handle. According to this embodiment, the operator when moving the gantry, moves along a longitudinal edge 3i of the surface to be covered 3. According to a preferred embodiment, the support body 13 is equipped with a bearing 18 facilitating the movement of the gantry in its direction of movement F. The rolling member 18 such as a wheel is capable of rolling thus in a direction parallel to the direction of rolling of the wheels 5. The wheel 18 is mounted at the end of a fork 19 extending from the arm 13 so that when the displacement means 14 rest on the ground S, by the wheel 18, the handle 15 is positioned correctly to allow a user to apply a pushing or pulling force on the gantry to ensure its longitudinal movement. The implementation of the device 1 according to the invention follows directly from the above description. To cover a surface 3, the device 1 according to the invention is arranged along a transverse edge 3 2 of the surface 3 to be covered while being placed to span this surface along its width. The rollable cover element 2 is attached by one of its ends to a transverse edge 3 2 delimiting the surface 3 to cover while its other end is attached to the mandrel 7 around which the major part of the cover element 2 is wound. The rotational drive means 11 are then controlled in a direction leading to the unwinding from the mandrel 7, of the cover element 2. Simultaneously, an operator ensures, for example, traction on the gantry, using of the manual operating member 15. This tensile force leads to the displacement of the gantry above the surface 3 in the direction of movement F, as well as to the tension of the cover element 2 which is unwound at from the mandrel 7. The device 1 can be immobilized anywhere covering the surface 3. When the surface 3 is completely covered, it should be noted that the covering element 2 can be detached from the mandrel 7 from so as to be fixed on the other transverse edge 3 2 of the surface to be covered 3. To uncover the surface 3, using the covering element 2 attached by one of its ends to the winding mandrel 7, the rotational drive means 11 are controlled so as to ensure the winding of the cover element 2 around the mandrel 7. Insofar as the cover element 2 is fixed by its other end to the transverse edge 3 2 of the surface 3, l winding of the covering element 2 leads to the displacement of the gantry in its direction F so that the operator exerts a minimum force, for example of thrust on the operating member 15. It emerges from the above that the device 1 according to the invention makes it possible to cover and discover a surface easily, without however providing complex guide arrangements on the edges of the surface to be covered. Furthermore, the handling device 1 according to the invention offers the advantage of being able to cover and discover a surface without requiring the deployment of significant efforts. Another advantage of the handling device 1 according to the invention is to allow the deployment of a covering element 2 of shape similar to that of the surface 3 either directly on the surface 3 such as on the surface of the water of a basin for example, or at least on the longitudinal edges 3ι in order to avoid contact between the surface of the water and the covering element 2. According to this last example of application, the method according to the invention aims to realize as a rollable cover element 2, a self-supporting flap of width greater than the surface 3 so that it can rest on the longitudinal edges 3] of the surface and possibly on the transverse edge 3 2 opposite to that from which the flap is fixed. It should be noted that the self-supporting flap is supported along the transverse edge 3 2 on which it is fixed. The self-supporting flap can therefore be produced in various forms similar to those of the surface 3, with larger dimensions in order to rest on the edges of the surface 3. By way of example, the self-supporting flap consists of a series of rigid transverse slats hinged together to allow winding of the shutter. Such a flap with articulated rigid strips is adapted to support at least the weight of a person when it is simply supported by the ends of the rigid strips. Of course, the handling device which is produced in the form of a gantry displaceable in a direction of translation above the surface 3, comprises a motorized mandrel of width adapted to receive such a self-supporting flap. In the same direction, the gantry is dimensioned so as to be supported by the longitudinal edges 3ι leaving with each longitudinal edge 3 3 of the surface 3 remaining, a support space 25 for the self-supporting flap. The covering of a surface 3 using a self-supporting flap is carried out as described above. Indeed, during the command in progress of the mandrel 7 and the concomitant movement of the gantry, the self-supporting flap is deposited above the surface 3 resting on the support space 25 adjoining the longitudinal edges 3ι. Of course, the self-supporting flap rests on a surface of the edges large enough to constitute a rigid surface even when a person walks on such a flap. The invention is not limited to the examples described and shown since various modifications can be made without departing from its scope.
