Abstract

On peut obtenir une amélioration de la qualité des images dans un dispositif de lecture électronique (300, 400) tel que, par exemple, un livre électronique, à l'aide d'afficheurs électrophorétiques, par décalage de la ligne et/ou de la colonne de départ pour l'affichage successif des pages successives. Par exemple, une première page (530, 830) peut être affichée à partir d'un premier emplacement, une deuxième page (630, 930) est affichée à partir d'un troisième emplacement, et ainsi de suite. Le décalage de l'emplacement de départ (par exemple la ligne et/ou la colonne) de chaque page par rapport à la page précédente permet de réduire de manière sensible les effets de rétention d'image dus aux mises à jour successives des images/textes, ce qui permet d'obtenir une image de meilleure qualité. on obtient également une réduction du besoin d'effacement ou de réinitialisation périodique de l'affichage afin d'éliminer les effets de rétention d'image, ce qui réduit la consommation d'énergie et favorise la facilité d'emploi.
