  • FIG. 13 to 15 illustrate a third embodiment of a cigarette pack 50 according to the invention comprising identical cigarette packets 52 both of which are overwrapped with clear cellophane 54 or similar material.
  • Each of the packets 52 comprises a box 56 with a hinge lid 58 that articulates about a hinge line 60 in opening and closing the packet.
  • An inner frame 62 is positioned inside each box 56.

  • the two unit concept also allows for the possibility of offering two versions of a cigarette product, one in each of the two packets, such as full flavor and lights or menthol and regular.
  • the packets can contain cigarettes of conventional size or slim or super-slim cigarettes.
  • one of the packets may be wrapped with clear cellophane or other wrap material prior to being combined with the second packet and overwrapped with additional material . Once the cigarette pack is opened the initially wrapped packet remains sealed until consumption of the cigarettes in that packet are desired at a later time.
  • both of the packets may be separately wrapped in cellophane or like material to preserve freshness of the contents prior to being overwrapped together in cellophane or like material .

  • Cigarette packs of the invention can be made by constructing packets from the same form of blank with substantially the same folding and gluing to form at least one procession of packets in a common orientation, pairing the packets and releasably joining the pairs to form packs of two packets .
  • such packs may be made by constructing packets from the same form of blank with substantially the same folding and gluing operations to form a first procession of packets in a first common orientation; constructing packets from the same form of blank as those of the first procession with substantially the same folding and gluing operations to form a second procession of packets in a second common orientation 180° away from the said first orientation; and pairing the packets of the first procession with packets of the second procession whereupon they are releasably joined.

Abstract

Paquet de cigarettes (10) comportant une paire d'emballages complémentaires (12, 14) dont chacun contient un groupe de cigarettes. Les emballages sont contigus au niveau de leurs faces latérales et emballés dans un conditionnement extérieur de manière à former le paquet de cigarettes (10). Chaque emballage (12, 14) comprend dix cigarettes de sorte que le paquet entier compte vingt cigarettes. Les emballages individuels (12, 14) facilitent le transport et favorisent la fraîcheur. Le paquet (10) peut présenter des arêtes arrondies ou biseautées, l'une des parois latérales est éventuellement non orthogonale par rapport aux parois avant et arrière, et chaque paquet (10) peut avoir un couvercle articulé (18) ou être un paquet du type à tiroir et enveloppe.
