Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Prüfung von Banknoten, welche die zu prüfenden Banknoten mittels eines Halbleiter-Arrays abtastet. Die erfindungsgemässe Vorrichtung zur Prüfung von Banknoten weist zwei zeilenförmige Halbleiter-Arrays auf, die von mindestens drei Schichten gebildet werden, die für Licht unterschiedlicher Wellenlänge empfindlich sind, wobei ein erstes zeilenförmiges Halbleiter-Array die Banknoten im einem definierten Bereich der spektralen Empfindlichkeit des Halbleiters (z.B. im sichtbaren Bereich) abtastet und ein zweites zeilenförmiges Halbleiter-Array die Banknoten in einem davon verschiedenen Bereich (z.B. des nicht sichtbaren infraroten Lichts) abtastet. Aus den Signalen der beiden Arrays wird durch geeignete Kombination ein farbiges Abbild der Banknote und wenigstens ein Abbild im Bereich des nicht sichtbaren Lichts gewonnen. Die erfindungsgemässe Vorrichtung weist den Vorteil auf, dass sie einfach und kostengünstig zu realisieren ist und wegen der Vermeidung von Bildfehlern, die beispielsweise durch Parallaxenfehler verursacht werden können, gute Prüfungsergebnisse liefert.
