キヤリプレート 7 2には、 1つの給電ポート 6 3が設けられており、 ここから 各アンテナへと導波路が形成されている。 したがって、 導波路は途中で分岐し、 複数の給電分配線路 7 3が形成されている。 各給電分配線路 7 3の、 各セクタの アンテナの手目 ijには MM I C (.monolithic microwave integrated circuit) 7 4によって、 各セクタへ給電する力否かの選択機構が形成されている。 したがつ て、 このセクタアンテナ 7 1では、 MM I C 7 4を操作することによって、 アン テナ放射ビーム 6 4を出力するセクタを選択し、 それによつて、 放射方向を選択 することができる。
また、 このようなセクタアンテナは、 例えば、 特開平 1 1一 2 2 5 0 1 3号公 報にも記載されている。 特開平 1 1— 2 2 5 0 1 3号公報に記載されたセクタァ ンテナは、 複数のアンテナ素子からの放射ビームを、 導体反射板を用いてそれぞ れ異なる方向に向ける構成を有している。 各アンテナ素子への給電導波路は、 1 つの給電ポートから M I C (microwave integrated circuit) を経て複数の導波 路に分かれており、 M I Cを操作することによって、 どのアンテナ素子につなが る導波路に給電するかを選択可能である。
しかしながら、 図 2を参照して説明した従来例の構成では、 各セクタの選択機 構、 すなわち MM I C 7 4までに長い給電分配線路 7 3が存在するため、 選択さ れたセクタへの給電分配線路 7 3以外の給電分配線路 7 3へも送信電力が漏れて、 実効的な送信電力が減少してしまう。 また、 遮断された MM I C 7 4において信 号波が反射し、 選択されたセクタに送られる信号波と干渉して悪影響を及ぼすと いう不都合がある。
また、 特開平 1 1一 2 2 5 0 1 3号公報に記載されたセクタァンテナでは、 選 択機構としての各アンテナ切替スィツチについては、 その電気回路が示されてい るだけであり、 非選択の給電分配線路への送信電力の漏洩や、 反射による悪影響 については考慮がなされていない。
発明の開示
本発明の目的は、 複数の分岐導波路を有し、 各分岐導波路に選択的に電力を供 給可能な給電導波路において、 非選択の分岐導波路への電力の漏洩、 およびそこ からの反射による悪影響を低減することにある。 また、 本発明の他の目的は、 前 述のような給電導波路をセクタアンテナの各アンテナへの電力供給に用い、 それ によって、 効率的かつ低誤りでデータ伝送を行うことができるセクタアンテナを 提供することにある。
この目的を達成するため、 本発明の、 給電側の導波路から分岐して複数の分岐 導波路に通じる給電導波路は、 各分岐導波路を選択的に遮断する選択機構を有し ている。 これらの選択機構は、 給電側の導波路から複数の分岐導波路に分岐する 箇所の、 各分岐導波路が始まる位置に配置されている。
この構成によれば、 1つの分岐箇所で分岐する分岐導波路のうちのいずれかを 選択機構によって遮断した際、 この分岐箇所は、 遮断された分岐導波路が存在し ない導波路と実質的に同じになる。 このため、 遮断した分岐導波路への送信電力 の漏洩、 および遮断した分岐導波路からの反射を実質的に生じることなく、 遮断 されていない分岐導波路側へ送信電力を伝送することができる。
また、 本発明の他の態様では、 選択機構が、 導波路内での送信信号の波長を I とし、 nを正の整数として、 給電側の導波路から複数の分岐導波路に分岐する箇 所の、 各分岐導波路が始まる位置から η 2だけ各分岐導波路に入った位置に 配置されている。
この構成によれば、 1つの分岐箇所で分岐する分岐導波路のうちのいずれかを 選択機構によって遮断した際、 送信電力は、 遮断された^岐導波路にも進入する が、 選択機構のところで反射されてそれ以上先に伝送されることはない。 この際、 遮断状態の選択機構で反射された反射波は、 その分岐導波路が始まる位置で送信 信号と同位相になり、 このため、 送信電力の損失、 および反射波による悪影響を 低減することができる。
本発明において、 給電導波路は導波管によって構成することができ、 それによ つて、 超高速通信に用いられるミリ波のような短波長の電磁波を低損失で伝送可 能とすることができる。
この際、 導波管は、 導体壁によって形成した通常の構成にしてもよいが、 λ /
2より小さ

、間隔で導通ビアを並べて形成することによって、 導通ビアを並べた ビア列が、 この送信電力に対して実質的に連続した導体壁として働くことを利用 して、 誘電体基板内の金属層とビア列によって実効的に形成した導体壁から擬似 導波管として構成してもよい。 後者の場合、 所望の導波路を平板状の誘電体基板 内に形成するのが、 すなわち平面回路として形成するのが容易である。
導波路を導波管 (擬似導波管を含む) とした場合、 選択機構は、 分岐導波路を 構成する導波管の断面を塞ぐ導体壁を実効的に形成することによって、 導波路を 遮断する構成とすることができる。
より具体的には、 選択機構は、 分岐導波路の導波管を構成する対向する導体壁 間に延びるダイオードと、 該ダイォードに逆バイアス電圧または順パイァス電圧 を選択的に印加する回路とから構成することができる。 ダイオードに順バイアス 電圧を印加することによって、 ダイオードが実効的に導通ビアとして働く。 そこ でダイオードを適当に配置しておくことによって、 ダイオードによって実効的に 形成された導通ビアは、 実効的に、 分岐導波路を構成する導波管の断面を塞ぐ導 体壁として働き、 選択機構が遮断状態になる。 一方、'ダイオードに逆バイアス電 圧を印加した場合、 ダイオードは、 導波管内を伝送される送信電力に影響を与え ず、 選択機構は開放状態になる。 このようなダイオードは、 平面回路の構成にお いて、 誘電体基板上に容易に実装することができる。
また、 他の態様として、 選択機構は、 導体板と、 該導体板を、 分岐導波路を構 成する導波管の断面を塞ぐ位置おょぴ該導波管を開放する位置に選択的に移動さ せる機構とから構成することもできる。
本発明のセクタアンテナは、 それぞれ異なる方向に指向性を有する複数のアン テナへの給電導波路として、 上述のような給電導波路を用いていることを特徴と する。 この給電導波路では、 上述のように、 非選択の分岐導波路への電力の漏洩 や、 非選択の分岐導波路からの反射波の影響を低減して、 選択された分岐導波路 に送信電力を導くことができ、 したがって、 本発明のセクタアンテナは、 効率的 に、 かつ低誤りでデータ伝送を実施することができる。
また、 給電導波路は導波管によって構成でき、 それによつて、 本発明のセクタ アンテナは、 ミリ波のような短波長の電磁波を用いた超高速通信に適用すること ができる。 また、 特に、 誘電体基板内の金属層と導通ビアの列を用いて導波管を 形成する構成では、 前述のように、 所望の給電導波路を平面回路として形成する のが容易であるので、 セクタアンテナを平面型の構成とするのも容易である。 以上のように、 本発明によれば、 分岐を有する給電導波路において、 非選択の 分岐導波路への電力の漏洩、 およぴ非選択の分岐導波路からの反射波による悪影 響を低減して、 選択した分岐導波路のみに効率的に、 かつ反射の影響を実質的に 生じることなく良好に送信電力を伝送することができる。
本発明において、 導波路は導波管によって構成することができ、 それによつて、 ミリ波のような短波長の電磁波を低損失で伝送することができる。 また、 上述の ように導波路において反射の影響がほとんど生じることがないので、 低誤りのデ ータ伝送を行うことができる。 したがって、 本発明の導波路は、 超高速無線通信 装置に好適に用いることができる。
このような本発明の給電導波路を用いたセクタァンテナは、 反射の影響を生じ ることなく低損失で選択した方向にアンテナ放射ビームを出力することができ、 低誤りで超高速のデータ伝送を実施可能である。 また、 このセクタアンテナを用 いることによって、 アンテナの向きの合わせが簡単となり、 また 1対 Nの通信も 実施可能となる。 図面の簡単な説明

以下、 図面を参照して本発明の実施の形態について説明する。
図 3 A, 3 Bに、 本発明による一実施形態の給電導波路と、 それが設けられた セクタアンテナの模式図を示す。 本実施形態のセクタアンテナは、 誘電体基板 1 1の一方の面に給電ポート 3が形成され、 他方の面にアンテナ素子が形成された 平面型アンテナであり、 図 3 Aは給電面 2側から見た斜視図、 図 3 Bはアンテナ 放射面 1側から見た斜視図である。
このセクタアンテナでは、 アンテナ素子としては円形のものが複数形成されて おり、 これらは、 矩形のアンテナ放射面 1を縦横にそれぞれ 2分割してできる 4 つの領域のそれぞれにアレイ状に並べて形成され、 各領域に形成されたアンテナ 素子がそれぞれ 1セクタのアンテナ 1 0 a , 1 0 b , 1 0 c , 1 0 dを構成して いる。 各セクタのアンテナ 1 0 a , 1 0 b , 1 0 c , 1 0 dは、 パッチァレーア ンテナ、 スロットアレーアンテナのいずれであってもよく、 いずれにしても、 図 3 Bにアンテナ放射ビーム 4によって模式的に示すように、 それぞれ異なる方向 の指向性を有している。 したがって、 これらのアンテナ 10 a, 10 b, 10 c, 10 dに選択的に送信電力を供給できるようにすることによって、 アンテナの方 向合わせが容易になり、 また、 1対 Nの通信に対応可能である。
給電ポート 3から各アンテナ 10 a, 10 b, 10 c, 10 dへの導波路は、 誘電体基板 11内に延びる導波管によって構成されている。 この導波管による導 波路は、 図 3 Aに破線で示すように、 給電ポート 3からァンテナ放射面 1側へと 延びた後、 図 3 Aの上下方向に延びる主給電ライン 5に接続している。 主給電ラ イン 5の両端には、 図 3 Aの左右方向に延びる分岐給電ライン 6 ' 7がそれぞれ 接続している。 分岐給電ライン 6の両端は、 それぞれアンテナ 10 a, 10 bへ と通じるセクタアンテナ給電ライン 9 a, 9 bに接続しており、 分岐給電ライン 7の両端は、 セクタアンテナ給電ライン 9 c, 9 dに接続している。
本実施形態では、 主給電ライン 5から分岐給電ライン 6, 7へ分岐する部分の 分岐点に、 セクタ選択機構 8 a, 8 b, 8 c, 8 dが設けられている。
次に、 図 4A, 4 Bを参照してセクタ選択機構 8 a, 8 b, 8 c, 8 dの構成 について説明する。 図 4 Aは、 分岐給電ライン 6に沿った平面断面図、 図 4Bは 垂直断面図である。
本実施形態では、 セクタ選択機構 8 a, 8 bは、 逆バイアス電圧、 または順パ ィァス電圧を選択的に印加する回路 (不図示) に接続された円柱型のダイオード によって構成されている。 このダイオードは、 送信信号の、 導波路内での波長を λとして、 分岐給電ライン 6を構成する導波管の壁との間の間隔がえ Ζ 2より小 さくなるように配置されている。
図 4 Α, 4 Βに示す例では、 セクタ選択機構 8 bのダイォードは順バイァス電 圧を印加され導通状態となっている。 このため、 このダイオードは実効的に導体 として働き、 すなわち、 導波管内に円柱型の導通ビアが形成された状態になって いる。 そして、 このダイオードと分岐給電ライン 6を構成する導波管の壁との間 の間隔が; L/2より小さくなつているため、 このダイオードは、 導波路内の送信 電力に対して実効的に、 導波管の断面を塞ぐ導体壁として働く。 したがって、 図 4 A, 4Bに示す状態では、 分岐給電ライン 6には、 主給電ライン 5側から図 4 A, 4 Bの左側に分岐する導波路が始まる位置、 すなわち分岐点に実効的に導体 壁が形成され、 すなわち遮断されている。
一方、 セクタ選択機構 8 aのダイオードは逆バイアス電圧を印加されて高抵抗 となっているため、 このダイオードは、 導波管内を伝送される送信電力に影響を 及ぼさず、 すなわち、 主給電ライン 5側から図 4 A, 4 Bの右側への分岐点は開 放されている。 したがって、 送信電力は主給電ライン 5側から図 4 A, 4 Bの右 側へと選択的に伝送され、 セクタアンテナ給電ライン 9 aを通ってアンテナ 1 0 aへと導かれる。 この際、 主給電ライン 5側から図 4 A, 4 Bの左側へ向かう部 分には、 前述のように、 セクタ選択機構 8 bによって分岐点に実効的に導体壁が 形成されているため、 この部分には、 実効的に、 屈曲してはいるが純然たる導波 管が形成され、 左側に向かう分岐導波路が存在しないのと同じ状態となっている。 このため、 セクタアンテナ給電ライン 9 bを介してアンテナ 1 0 bへと通じる、 主給電ライン 5側から図 4 A, 4 Bの左側へ向かう分岐導波路への送信電力の漏 れゃ、 この分岐点からの反射は実質的に生じない。
このように、 セクタ選択機構 8 a , 8 b , 8 c , 8 dは、 それを遮断状態にし、 すなわち、 分岐点に実効的に導体壁を形成した時に、 形成された導体壁が、 導波 管の管壁の一部を形成するように配置されており、 それによつて、 反射波を実質 的に生じさせないようにすることができる。 言い換えれば、 セクタ選択機構 8 a, 8 b, 8 c , 8 dは、 給電側の導波路を構成する導体壁が延びる面と同一面に、 実効的に導体壁を形成するように構成されている。 本発明において、 選択機構を 配置する分岐点、 あるいは分岐導波路が始まる位置とは、 このような位置である ことを意味している。
また、 分岐給電ライン 7側でも、 同様に、 セクタ選択機構 8 c , 8 dを構成す るダイォードに逆バイアス電圧力順パイァス電圧を選択的に印加することによつ て、 送信電力を、 非選択側への漏れや非選択側からの反射を実質的に生じること なく選択側へ導くことができる。
上記のように、 分岐給電ライン 6側でセクタ選択機構 8 aを開放している場合、 セクタ選択機構 8 c , 8 dを構成するダイォ ^ドの両方に順バイアス電圧を印加 し、 両方のセクタ選択機構 8 c , 8 dを遮断状態としてもよい。 この場合、 送信 電力は、 アンテナ 1 0 aのみに、 効率的に導くことができる。 この際、 両方の選 択機構 8 c , 8 dが遮断された分岐給電ライン 7側からは、 主給電ライン 5へと 反射波が生じる。 そこで、 主給電ライン 5の給電ポート 3から分岐給電ライン 7 までの長さは; L / 2の整数倍にしておくことが望ましい。 このようにすることに よって、 主給電ライン 5の、 給電ポート 3から図 3 Aの上側へ向かう分岐点にお いて、 送信信号と反射波は同相となるので、 損失や反射波による悪影響を低減す ることができる。 これは、 分岐給電ライン 6側でも同様であり、 主給電ライン 5 の給電ポート 3から分岐給電ライン 6までの長さは; 1 / 2の整数倍にしておくこ とが望ましい。
以上説明したように、 本実施形態によれば、 分岐給電ライン 6 , 7の、 主給電 ライン 5側からの分岐点に選択的、 実効的に導体壁を形成するセクタ選択機構 8 a , 8 b , 8 c, 8 dを設けることによって、 複数の分岐導波路のうち、 非選択 の分岐導波路への送信電力の漏れ、 および非選択の分岐導波路側からの反射を低 減して、 選択した分岐導波路のみに、 損失を生じることなく効率的に、 かつ、 非 選択の分岐導波路側からの反射の悪影響を生じることなく良好に、 送信電力を導 くことができる。
また、 本実施形態において、 導波路は導波管としており、 それによつて、 例え ば周波数 6 0 G H Z、 自由空間での波長 5 mm程度のミリ波を低損失で伝送する ことができる。 したがって、 本実施形態の給電導波路およびセクタアンテナは、 ミリ波などを用いた超高速無線通信装置に好適に用いることができる。
導波管は、 矩形の断面を有する経路を形成するように導体壁によって囲った通 常の構成としてもよレ、が、 誘電体基板 1 1内に設けた金属層と導通ビアによって 擬似導波管として形成してもよい。 すなわち、 λ / 2より小さい間隔で導通ビア を並べて形成することによって、 導通ビアを並べたビア列が、 この送信電力に対 して実効的に連続した導体壁として働くことを利用して、 金属層とビア列によつ て導波管を形成することができる。 この構成には、 平板状の誘電体基板 1 1内に 比較的容易に導波管を形成することができ、 したがって給電導波路を容易に平面 回路として形成できる利点がある。 また、 本実施形態では、 セクタ選択機構 8 a, 8 b , 8 c , 8 dを円柱型のダイオードから構成しており、 これも誘電体基板 1 1の給電ポート 3側から容易に実装することができる。 したがって、 本実施形態 の、 特に擬似導波管を用いた給電導波路およびセクタアンテナは、 全体を平面型 の構成とするのが容易であり、 量産性にも優れている。
次に、 本発明の他の実施形態について図 5を参照して説明する。
図 5は、 本実施形態のセクタアンテナの、 給電面 2側から見た模式的斜視図で ある。 同図において、 前述の実施形態と同様の部分については同一の符号を付し ており、 詳細な説明は省略する。
本実施形態では、 セクタ選択機構 1 8 a , 1 8 b , 1 8 c, 1 8 dの実装位置 が前述の実施形態と異なっている。 すなわち、 セクタ選択機構 1 8 a, 1 8 b , 1 8 c , 1 8 dは、 分岐給電ライン 6, 7の各分岐導波路への分岐点から、 各分 岐導波路内へ; L / 2だけ入ったところに設けられている。 この構成では、 送信電 力は、 非選択の分岐導波路へも進入するが、 L Z 2だけ入ったところで導波管が 遮断されているので、 それ以上先へは伝送されず、 反射される。 この際、 この反 射波は、 分岐点において送信信号と同相となるので損失となることは無く、 選択 側への送信信号に悪影響を生じることもない。
以上のように、 本実施形態の構成でも、 前述の実施形態と同様に、 選択した分 岐導波路のみに、 損失を生じることなく効率的に、 つ、 非選択の分岐導波路側 からの反射の悪影響を生じることなく良好に、 送信電力を導くことができる。 本 実施形態の構成を用いることによって、 設計の自由度を高めることができる。 以上の各実施形態では、 セクタ選択機構として円柱型のダイォードを用いた例 を示したが、 本発明はこれに限られることはない。 セクタ選択機構の他の構成例 として、 導波管を導体板によって選択的に遮断する 2つの構成例を図 6 , 7に示 す。 図 6 , 7は、 分岐給電ライン 6に沿った模式的な垂直断面図である。
図 6·は、 導体板 2 9 a , 2 9 bを分岐給電ライン 6に対して垂直に移動させて、 分岐点に選択的に揷入する構成例を示しており、 セクタ選択機構 2 8 a側は、 導 体板 2 9 aが導波管内から引き出されて開放されており、 セクタ選択機構 2 8 b 側は、 導体板 2 9 bが導波管内に挿入されて遮断されている。 したがって、 送信 電力は、 セクタ選択機構 2 8 a側のみに選択的に伝送される。 このようなセクタ 選択機構 2 8 a, 2 8 bは、 例えば、 導体板 2 9 a , 2 9 bとしての金属板を圧 電ァクチユエータに接続して構成することができ、 圧電ァクチユエータに選択的 に電圧を印加することによって制御することができる。
図 7は、 導体板 3 9 a, 3 9 bを回転動作させて、 導体壁を選択的に分岐点を 塞ぐ位置に位置させる構成例を示しており、 セクタ選択機構 3 8 a側は、 導体板 3 9 aが導波管の管壁に沿う位置に回転させられて開放されており、 セクタ選択 機構 3 8 b側は、 導体板 3 9 bが導波管に垂直な位置に回転させられて遮断され ている。 したがって、 送信電力は、 セクタ選択機構 3 8 a側のみに選択的に伝送 される。 このようなセクタ選択機構 3 8 a , 3 8 bは、 例えば、 M E M S (Micro Electro-Mechanical System) 技術を用いて形成することができる。
なお、 以上の説明では、 セクタ選択機構の位置は、 導波路の分岐点もしくはそ こから各分岐導波路内へ nぇ 2だけ入ったところとしたが、 各セクタ選択機構 の実装の容易性の観点から、 ある程度の実装位置の公差は許容でき、 所望の特性 をあまり損なわない範囲として、 この公差は、 λ / 2の ± 3 0 %以内とするの が好ましい。 また、 以上の説明では、 送信回路への適用について説明したが、 受 信回路に適用しても、 所望の方向からの受信波を効率的に受信回路に導くと共に、 不要波を受信しないという顕著な効果が得られることは言うまでもない。

1 . 給電側の導波路から分岐して複数の分岐導波路に通じる給電導波路において、 給電側の導波路から複数の分岐導波路に分岐する箇所の、 該各分岐導波路が始 まる位置に、 該各分岐導波路を選択的に遮断する選択機構が備えられていること を特徴とする給電導波路。
2 . 給電側の導波路から分岐して複数の分岐導波路に通じる給電導波路において、 導波路内での送信信号の波長を; Iとし、 nを正の整数として、 給電側の導波路 から複数の分岐導波路に分岐する箇所の、 該各分岐導波路が始まる位置から η λ / 2だけ該各分岐導波路に入った位置に、 該各分岐導波路を選択的に遮断する選 択機構が備えられていることを特徴とする給電導波路。

1 3 . 前記選択機構は、 前記分岐導波路の導波管を構成する、 対向する導体壁間 に延びるダイオードと、 該ダイォードに逆バイアス電圧または順パイァス電圧を 選択的に印加する回路とから構成されている、 請求項 1 2に記載のセクタアンテ ナ。
1 4 . 前記選択機構は、 導体板と、 該導体板を、 前記分岐導波路を構成する導波 管の断面を塞ぐ位置および該導波管を開放する位置に選択的に移動させる機構と から構成されている、 請求項 1 2に記載のセクタアンテナ。
