Abstract

A method of a enhancing production of grain in cereal crop plants is disclosed. The method comprises inoculating the cereal crop plants with an attenuated mutant strain of a pathogenic fungus of cereal crop plants such as 5 wheat, and growing the plants. Cereal crop plants inoculated with an attenuated strain are expected to be resistant to non-attenuated pathogenic fungi.
