Abstract

A protective bag (26) for personally carrying necked type glass bottles. Where the bag is tightly shaped to fit the bottles contour (24): a sinuous neck portion and a cylindrical body. So to avoid clanging and breakage when there are more than two bottles carried together in the same carry-on bag or inside luggage. When the bottle is inserted into the bag, the bag conforms to the cylindrical shape of the bottle. The bag is comprised of two panels of bubble wrap material; which forms the bag’s front and back panels, with a flap extending out from the back pane., which contains a pressure sensitive strip, covered by a peel off liner, to close the bag off.

Description

TITLE OF THE INVENTION: A PROTECTIVE BAG FOR NECKED BOTTLES
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
01) This invention relates generally to flexible plastic bags and more particularly, to flexible plastic padded bags for bottle protection and prevention of breakage, especially during transportation or whereas involves personal transit of the bottle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
01) Many devices have been used to safely ship glass bottles, especially liquor and wine bottles. These devices are expensive and awkward because of their size and bulk. Most of these devices are made of rigid material such as Polystyrene or pressed cardboard. The main objective for the use of these devices is for
02) shipping the items away. These devices are not designed to be carried by the consumer as a carry-on items. Such is the case where one or more bottles are transported from the retailer to the consumer's home or place. And when the consumer wishes to transport bottles in travel situations, such as; hand carry, carry-on luggage, or in the interior of a suitcase: where a broken bottle often
03) translates as spillage over the entire contents inside the suitcase. The risks are that glass bottles are prone to damage by impact, when there are more than one bottle carried together in the same paper or plastic bag, or have no protection and receive direct impact from other objects, or hard surfaces, therefore exposing the bottles to a high risk of breaking, and to the person whom carries them a great
04) inconvenience.
For single bottle protection there is only the kraft paper bag used commonly by retailers of wine and liquor. These bags do not protect bottles from the risk mentioned above. Various inventions have being developed to effect of this practice. Some of this
05) include : US Pat. No. 0030111375 to Kilmartin, US Pat. No, 5,624,048 to Sander.US Pat. No 4,197.890 to Simko, GN Pat. No. 455,944 to Siebenborn, GB Pat. No. 2,213,464 to Finch.
The above mention systems are muuch complicated to manufacture or do not cover the whole bottle. leaving the bottle's neck exposed, or lacks of tight fit.
06) The present invention seeks to provide a bag that protects bottles from impacts when transported. A bubble bag that covers up the whole bottle and has means of closing or sealing devices, and also protects them from spillage. Moreover, the present invention provides a bag that is easy to make with small modifications in existing tooling, and also of a very low cost. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
01) The present device is a protective bag made of padded material for transporting necked bottles, especially those use for wine and liquor, but not excluding other types of bottles.
One object of the present invention is to protect individual bottles from damage or breakage, when transported by the purchaser, or any other person in the line of
02) handling of such bottle, from the supplier to the purchaser's destination.
The invention relates to bottle packaging. The present invention comprises one ply or plural ply of padded and not padded materials, so to soften impacts that could cause damage to the bottles . The bag holds the whole body of the bottle tightly within its cavity; it is shaped out of the contour of the necked shape of the bottle.
03) The present invention is referred to be used for the shipment or personal handeling of individual bottles.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS.

Another preferred second embodiment of the present invention FIG. 3, refers to

This two panels 52-53 are extended up, and have a cut off in the middle portion, which leaves two sets of plastic strips 54 forming upwardly, which are folded together and heat sealed at the top 55 of each strip pair; to create the handles to carry the bag.
The necked type bottle 33 is inserted into the cavity of the interior bag 51 , and the
21) flap 30 of the bag 20 is adhered to the front of said bag by means of a pressure sensitive strip 31 , covered by a peel off liner 32, both of prior art. The present invention can also be use for any bottle generally shape with a upper neck portion and a cylindrical body at the lower portion.
22) A further aspect of the invention is to provide a bag of simple construction with small adaptation to a present industrial technology in bag fabrication, providing a bag of low cost and high advantages and improvements to current products in use.

It will be apparent to those skilled in the art, however, that many changes, modifications and variations, and other uses and applications for the subject device are possible. All such changes; modifications, variations and other uses and applications, which do not depart from the spirit and

CLAIM SUMMARY
01) I claim; Independent claim No. 1 :
A.1 A bag for carrying a necked bottle, comprising: a substantially cylindrical body defining a cavity, said body terminating at one
02) end in a tapered close portion to removably receive a necked bottle when the necked bottle is inserted within the cavity, and a closable end opposing said tapered closed portion to permit the entry of the necked bottle, said closable end including a closing device to substantially seal said closable end.
A.2 The bag of Claim A.1, wherein said body includes a padded portion.
A.3 The bag of Claim A.2, wherein said padded portion includes bubble wrap material.
A.4 The bag of Claim A.2, wherein said padded portion includes a corrugated material.
A.5 The bag of Claim A.1, wherein said tapered closed portion comprises a sinuous neck portion.
A.6 The bad of Claim A.1, wherein said tapered portion comprises a progressively tapering portion.
A.7 The bag of Claim A.1 , wherein said closing device comprises(consider the alternatives in Figs. 1-6).
A.8 Consider body as single ply, plural ply.

02) entry of the necked bottle, and said closable end to received the neck of the bottle, and said closable end incluiding a closing device to substantially seal said closable end, and a closed end opposing said tapered closable portion to receive the bottom of the necked bottle. Dependent claims:

B.3 The bag of Claim B.2, wherein said padded portion incluides a bubble wrap material
B.4 The bag of Claim B.2, wherein said padded portion incluides a corrugated material.
B.5 The bag of Claim 1 , wherein said tapered portion comprises a flap portion.
B.6 The bag of Claim B.1, wherein said closing device comprises
