LOCKING MECHANISM OF INTERCONNECTED EXTENSION PIPE FOR THE VACUUM CLEANER
Technical View
This invention concerns a locking mechanism for the vacuum cleaners, which are the tools of general surface cleaning, enabling to ensure an extension by connecting the extension pipes in any required length then to cause those extension pipes locked with each other.
This locking mechanism that is the subject of the invention focused on an additional metal pipe enabling to extend the metal pipe of the vacuum cleaner, which is one of the widely used tools of today, by the purpose of a more productive use so such a locking mechanism, which was considered as the most practical, most useful and economical has been designed in order to joint this supplement pipe into the other.
Frame of invention
The vacuum cleaners, which are the mostly used tools in respect of an easy and practical use, generally consist of an electric motor ensuring the vacuum, a reservoir where the collected dusts are kept and end suction cleaner with the pipe arrangement. This mentioned pipe arrangement is usually different from each other and consists of a metal pipe connected with an accordion plastic pipe and a specific dust holder and/or end suction cleaner.
Aforementioned pipe extension/locking mechanism has been designed to solve the problem of reaching to the deep corners where the pipe could not arrive at during the cleaning.
The vacuum cleaners designed by us are including a locking mechanism of interconnected pipes, an adapter used to fix the extension pipe, which has the adjustment and locking notches lined up into a parallel order with an equal distance to each other, with a smaller diameter providing an easy movement in main pipe and a spring with a pin placed on this adapter in addition to a female side cover that was
installed on or mounted to drive this adapter and the male cover that is the locker of the pin and two rings to be used to fix those covers in double sides..

Detailed explanation of the invention
The parts, which are seen in Figure -1a, 2a, 3,4a,5a, are the locking mechanism of the interconnected extension pipe for the vacuum cleaners. Such mechanism is consisting of a cylindrical body adapter (1), a locking pin (10) placed on this adapter (1) and a spring (14), two side covers (15,20) and two rings (26).
The adapter seen in Figure -1a,1b,1c,1d,1e was produced in a cylindrical body. This mentioned body includes a rectangular shaped space (2) where the Locking pin (10)
to be placed; four catches (3) of which two ones set in side to side on one edge and the other two ones on cross edge enabling to couple the main pipe (28) with the adapter (1) at the inner surface of this cylindrical body; the protrusion (4) of two sledges lied in longitudinal position providing to move the side covers in forward and backward directions, located in asymmetric position at the outer surface of the cylindrical body; a protrusion (5) of sledge providing to move the extension pipe in forward and backward directions at the inner surface of the cylindrical body; the rings (6) rounding transversally the cylindrical body in the manner of duo rings enabling to finish the movement of the side covers in forward and backward directions; a spring holder (7) in rectangular shape (7) ; two holders (8) where the catches of the locking pin leaves to be attached ; and two holders (9) in rectangular shape where the pressing catches (22) of the locking pin of male side cover remained unemployed.
The rectangular shaped locking pin (10) seen in Figure -2a has a rectangular shaped space (12) in the middle part, which provides one of the pressing catches of the male side cover locking pin to be remained unemployed during the operating of the mechanism in addition, the holding lock protrusions (13) to the extension pipe and the catches (11) enabling to attach the pin into the adapter, on the edge of the leaves, which are opening into two sides.
The half rectangular shaped female side cover (15) seen in Figure-4a,4b,4c,4d,4e has four small catch holders (16) to be attached to the male side cover catches and two big catch holders (17) to be attached to the big catches of the male side cover, four catches (18), which are the holders of the ring (26), and two catches (19) enabling to move the spring.
The half cylindrical body shaped male side cover (20) seen in Figure -5a,5b,5c,5d,5e has the sledge protrusions (21) of locking pin leaves; the pressing catches (22) for the locking pin; four small catches (24) to be attached to the female side cover catch holders (16), two big catches(25) to be attached to the big catch holders of the female side cover and four catches(23) to hold the ring (26).
The circular Ring (26), which is the holder of the side covers, seen in Figure -6a,6c has four catch holders (27) to be attached to the side cover catches (18,23) in inner surface.
Assembly Description
The Locking Pin (10) is placed into rectangular shaped space (2) in outer body of cylindrical shaped Adapter (1) seen in Figure -1e and the catches (11) on the leaf edges are attached to the holders (8) on Adapter. The spring (14) is affixed into the spring holder (7) in rectangular shape at the outer surface of the cylindrical body of the Adapter (1) seen in Figure-1b. Figure - 4a; Female side cover (15) shall be placed on the surface where the spring (14) affixed of the Adapter (1), in the manner of providing the spring (14) to be put among the catches (19) that move the spring.
Figure -5b; Male side cover (20) shall be first positioned in the manner of the four small catches (24) and two big (25) catches to be equaled into the holders (16,17) on the edges of the female side cover (15) at the surface of the Adapter (1) where the pin (10) affixed, then attached by pressing to each other strictly. Two each holding catches (18,23) on the side cover edges shall be positioned in the manner of those to be equaled into four each catch holders (27) on the rings (26) at both edges of the cylindrical body then attached by pressing to each other strictly so the locking mechanism is formed accordingly.
Figure -7a; The pipe (28) of the vacuum cleaner is attached to the edge with bigger diameter of such locking mechanism and the pipe is fixed into the adapter (1) by inserting those catches on the pipe into two cross catches (3), which were set side by side at the inner surface of the cylindrical body. The jagged lock holders (30) on the extension pipe (29) to be attached to the edge with the smaller diameter of the locking mechanism shall be inserted into adapter in the manner of those jagged lock holders to be equaled to the locking catches (13) of the locking pin (10)
Operation Description
Figure-7a indicates the complete assembled shape of the mechanism ready to operate. During the operation of the mechanism, the side covers (15,20) are capable to move in forward and backward directions on the sledges (4) at the sides up to the transversally mounted rings (6) on the part where is close to both edges of the adapter (1). Meanwhile, the pin leaf sledges (21) at the inner surface of the male side cover (20) ensure an easy movement of the cover on pin leaves (31) in forward and backward directions. By drawing the side covers (15,20) towards to the main pipe (28), the catches (19) moving the spring (14) at the inner surface of the female side cover (15) press the spring (14) upwards from one edge and move the covers (15,20) upward so it provides one of the pin pressing catches (22) at the inner surface of the male side cover to enter into the holder (9) at adapter (1) and to extend the extension pipe (29) in any required size by ensuring to remove the locking catches (13) from the locking holders (30) on extension pipe (29) as the result of providing the pin (10) to be free by placing the other catch (22) into the space (12) over the pin (10). In the event of the extension pipe (29) has been extended in any required size, the side covers (15,20) are set free when the lock protrusions (13) of the pin (10) inserted into locking holders, so in such a case the pressed spring (14) pulls the side covers (15,20) downwards in order to return to its previous position. While the movement of mentioned pressed spring continues, the male side cover (20) removes one of the pin pressing catches (22) from the holder (9) in adapter (1) and the other one from the space (12) on the pin (10) so it ensures them to come on the pin locking catches (13), at the same time it achieves to keep the pin locking catches (13) into the holders (30) at the extension pipe by applying a pressure on pin locking catches (13). Finally, by ensuring the locking function, the extension pipe (29) became in an integrated position with the main pipe (28) to use.
