Abstract

The vacuum insulation panel (VIP) has a gas-tight mantle and an open-pored, evacuated core disposed therein, characterized in that it is structured in such a way that it can be penetrated either partially or fully at any particular points or at individually defined points without causing vacuum loss. This can be accomplished in gas-tight auxiliary bodies whose structure is such that surfaces of said auxiliary bodies can be connected to two opposite sides of the gas tight mantle of the VIP in a gas-tight manner. Alternately, the gas-tight mantle can be formed at least partially as a double mantle with two enveloping films and a sealing material disposed therebetween, whereby a sealing surface is formed around the penetrating body when penetration occurs. Other alternatives include penetration of any particular VIPs by special penetrating bodies comprising a pair of partial bodies with shanks with which they are reciprocally penetrated in a concentric manner and which can be connected to each other in a gas-tight manner.
