Abstract

L'invention concerne un corps de roulement conçu pour un palier à roulement et constitué d'acier martensitique trempé à coeur. Selon l'invention, les contraintes résiduelles de compression à une profondeur radiale correspondant à 4 % du diamètre du corps de roulement sont comprises entre moins 400 MPa et moins 1200 MPa. En outre, le corps de roulement fini présente les caractéristiques de dureté ou de gradient de dureté suivantes : a) une dureté à la surface ≥ 613 HV (56 HRc) ; b) une dureté au centre ≥ 285 HV (28 HRc) ; c) une différence (Δ) entre la dureté à la surface et la dureté au centre ≥ 150 HV (9 HRc) ; d) une dureté au centre dès une profondeur radiale comprise entre 8 % et 30 % du diamètre du corps de roulement. Un corps de roulement présentant de telles caractéristiques peut être utilisé particulièrement longtemps même s'il est soumis à un frottement mixte et à un encrassement dans le palier à roulement.
