Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif et procédé de détermination du 'chirp' d'un modulateur électro-optique interféromètrique de type Mach-Zahnder par analyse spectrale optique, un signal optique de fréquence ?0 étant modulé par un signal électrique comportant une composante périodique de fréquence prédéterminée 0 et une composante continue de polarisation, le 'chirp' pondérant l'amplitude des raies optiques latérales de modulation décalées en fréquence de ?0? par rapport à ?0. Le dispositif comporte un moyen de mesure optique d'une des raies latérales et un moyen de commande et de calcul permettant, d'envoyer une composante continue telle que la différence de phase optique ? entre les deux bras est sensiblement nulle et, d'envoyer une composante continue telle que la différence de phase optique ? est sensiblement égale à p, le moyen de calcul permettant de calculer le rapport de la mesure à I?? = p sur la mesure à ? = 0, pour déterminer le 'chirp'.
