Abstract

The invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the steel industry. The inventive method for producing aluminium iron deoxidizer in the form of aluminium enclosed into a regular protective iron jacket consists in melting aluminium and forming an aluminium ingot of specified mass and shape taking into consideration that the final aluminium/iron ratio ranges within the limits of 1: (1:4). The aluminium ingot is arranged by the lesser base thereof in a casting mould on point rests whose height is equal to the specified wall thickness of the protective iron jacket. An iron lid whose dimensions correspond to the dimensions of the larger surface of the ingot and which has the same specified thickness is arranged on said larger surface of the ingot. Molten iron is poured in the casting mould in such a way that the contour of the lid is filled with said iron. The thus produced combined ingot is cooled until iron is solidified and extracted from the casting mould. Said invention makes it possible to obtain high accuracy of the weight of ingots and in the aluminium/iron ratio, and to increase the strength of the protective jacket. When the deoxidizer ingots are arranged in a ladle under steel stream they do not float, thereby improving the assimilation of aluminium by steel and reducing the aluminium consumption.
