Abstract

Für die Reaktionskomponenten der Brennstoffzellenreaktion undurchlässige, protonenleitfähige, flexible Elektrolytmembran für eine Brennstoffzelle, umfassend einen stoffdurchlässigen, flexiblen, durchbrochenen, Polymerfasern umfassenden Träger, wobei der Träger mit einem Protonenleitfähigen Material durchsetzt ist, das geeignet ist selektiv Protonen durch die Membran zu leiten.Die Erfindung betrifft eine protonenleitende Membran, ein Verfahren zu deren Herstellung und deren Verwendung. Die erfindungsgemäße Membran stellt eine neue Klasse von festen protonenleitenden Membranen dar. Basis ist ein poröser und flexibler Träger, der Polymerfasern aufweist, vorzugsweise ein Polymervlies. Dieser wird mit einem protonenleitenden Material infiltriert, dann wird die Membran getrocknet und das protonenleitende Material zu einem Gel oder kristallinen Material verfestigt, so dass am Ende eine stoffundurchlässige, protonenleitende Membran erhalten wird. Die Elektrolytmembran bleibt dabei flexibel und kann problemlos als Membran in einer Brennstoffzelle verwendet werden.
