Abstract

A poster frame for a poster sign, which is made of a closed hollow profile (6) of aluminium in top, bottom and sides, is assembled at the corners by means of connecting pieces. To accommodate the hollow profiles (6) the back has an attached thin metal plate with a width a little larger than that of a hollow profile (6) to which metal plate a transparent plate (2) can be attached, which covers a poster by means of a strip of magnetic tape stuck along the outer edge. A hollow profile (6), preferably in the bottom of the frame, has a slot (8) at its top along the back edge. In this hollow profile there is inserted one or more springy elements (9) embodied with a projecting ridge (10), which can be accommodated in a groove (11) in a plane plate member (12) of a thickness approximately equal to the width of the slot (8), a width which is larger than the width of the hollow profile (6) and a length a little shorter than the free length of profile (6) between two connecting pieces. The plate (2) is attached to the plate member (12). Along the other edges the plate (2) is attached to the frame by means of magnetic tape. When a poster is to be exchanged, the plate (2) can be bent outwards at the upper edge of the plate member (12), and this prevents the plate (2) from being stolen.

Description

Poster frame for a poster sign
The present invention relates to a poster frame of the kind described in the pre-characterising part of claim 1.
When a poster is to be inserted in the poster sign, which may be fixed to a wall or a window, the transparent plate is taken out, and another poster is attached to the back of the transparent plate, which is then reinserted in the poster frame. However, it often happens that both a poster and the transparent plate are stolen.
The purpose of the present invention is to describe a poster frame in which the transparent plate is fixed to the poster frame so that it is easy to exchange a poster, but that the transparent plate cannot be stolen. This is achieved by embodying the poster frame as described in the characterising part of claim 1.
Claim 2 relates to a preferred embodiment of a springy element for a poster frame according to the invention, and
Claim 3 relates to means to retain the springy element in a hollow profile.
The invention is described below in detail with reference to the drawing in which

As shown in the drawing a poster sign consists of a poster frame 1 , which may be fixed to a wall and in which can be inserted a transparent plate 2, which covers a poster 3 and which can be retained in the poster frame by means of a magnetic-tape strip 4 which sticks along the outer edge of the plate and which adheres to the circumference of a metal plate 5, which is attached to the back of the frame and fixed to the back of the hollow profiles in the full circumference and whose outer edge is flush with the outer edge of the hollow profiles, and which has a width larger then the width of the hollow profiles, whereby is created an internal edge to which the transparent plate 2 can be attached.
The poster frame is constructed of lengths of a hollow profile 6 in top, bottom and sides, which are joined at the corners by means of connecting pieces 7, which the ends of a hollow profile can be forced in over at the ends of the assembly piece.
A hollow profile 6 - preferably in the bottom of the frame 1 - has according to the invention at the top along the rear edge a slot 8 of a width b. In the hollow profile is inserted one or more springy elements 9 embodied with a projecting ridge 10, which can engage with a groove 11 in a plane plate member 12, which has a thickness approximately equal to the width b of the slot 8. The plate member 12 has a width B, which is wider than the width of the hollow profile 6, and a length a little shorter than the internal free length of a profile 6 between two connecting pieces 7. When the plate member 12 is to be mounted in the profile 6, the former is forced from above through the opening 8 with the groove 11 facing the ridge 10 on a spring element 9.
The transparent plate 2 is - as shown in fig. 5 - fastened at the top, e.g. glued, to the plate member 12. Along the other sides of the frame 1 the plate is fastened by means of magnetic tape 4 to a metal plate 5. When a poster is to be changed for another the transparent plate 2 is bent away from the plate member 12 as shown.
As shown the springy element is hollow. It has a top side 13, a bottom side 14 and a front side 15, which on the outside has approximately the same shape as and rests against adjacent sides of the hollow profile 6. The element 9 has a adjacent sides of the hollow profile 6. The element 9 has a convex back 16 with a projecting ridge 10. In its mounted position the back 16 - when the plate member 12 is not inserted - has a distance s from the opposite internal side 17 of the profile 6, which is shorter than the thickness of the plate 12.
In the top corner the spring element 9 is embodied with a projecting ridge 18, which can engage with a groove 19 in the underside of the hollow profile 6. At the bottom the clamping member is embodied with a projecting plane plate member 20, which has a back edge 21 , which rests against the internal side 17 of the hollow profile 9, whereby the spring element 9 is held in position in the hollow profile 6, both at top and bottom. When the plate member 12 is inserted, it rests against the face 22 of the plate member 20.
The shown and described poster frame serves only to illustrate the invention. Within the frame work of the invention it is possible to imagine various modifications. For example, the spring element could be embodied in other ways.

Claims

C L A I M S
1. Poster frame for poster sign of the kind consisting of a frame (1 ) made of a closed hollow profile (6) of aluminium in top, bottom, and sides, which are joined in the corners by means of connecting pieces (7), to which hollow profiles (6), which on the back have a thin metal plate (5) attached, whose width is slightly larger than a hollow profile (6) and to which a transparent plate (2), which covers a poster (3), can be fastened by means of a magnetic strip (4) along the circumference of the plate (2), c h a r a c t e r i s e d by the fact that a hollow profile (6), preferably in the bottom of the frame (1 ) at its top along the back edge has a slot (8) with an internal width (b), that the hollow profile (6) has inserted one or more springy elements (9) embodied with a projecting ridge (10) which can engage with a groove (11) in a plane plate member (12), which has a thickness approximately equal to the width (b) of the slot, a width (B) which is larger than the width of the hollow profile (6), and a length which is slightly shorter than the internal free length of a profile (6) between the two connecting pieces (7), and that the transparent plate (2) is attached along an edge, e.g. glued to the plate member (12).

Poster frame according to claim 1 , c h a r a c t e r i s e by the fact that the springy elements (9) are hollow and have a top side (13), an under side (14) and a front side (15) with its front side towards the frame (1), which on its external side has approximately the same shape as and rests against the adjacent sides of the hollow profile (6), and a convex back (16) with a projecting ridge (10) which back in its mounted position has a distance (s) from the internal side (17) of the hollow profile (6), which is slightly smaller than the thickness (t) of the plate member (12), and that there are means (18-21) to retain the springy element (9) in position in the hollow profile (6).

Poster frame according to claim 2, characterised by the fact that the means (18-21) comprise a projecting ridge (18) in a top corner of the spring element (9), which in its mounted position is engaged with a groove (19) in the under side of the hollow profile (6) and at the bottom on the clamping member a projecting plane plate member (20) with a back edge (21), which in its mounted position rests against the internal side (17) of the hollow profile (9) and an upper side (22) against which the lower edge of the plate member (12) can come to rest.
