Abstract

Es ist ein Verfahren zur Abkühlung schmelzgesponnener Filamente sowie eine Vorrichtung zum Schmelzspinnen einer Vielzahl strangförmiger Filamente beschrieben. Dabei werden die mittels einer Spinneinrichtung schmelzgesponnenen Filamente in einer Kühleinrichtung durch eine konditionierte Kühlluft abgekühlt. Zum Konditionieren der Kühlluft wird der benötigte Naßdampf erfindungsgemäß durch mehrere Dampferzeuger erzeugt, die parallel mit der Kühlmittelquelle verbunden sind. Dadurch läßt sich die Anzahl der Dampferzeuger an den benötigten Dampfmengenbedarf derart anpassen, daß zumindest einer der Dampferzuger zum Zwecke der Wartung abschaltbar ist.
