Abstract

Eine Vorrichtung (30) zum Verbinden eines Endgeräts einer Mehrzahl von Endgeräten, die ausgebildet sind, um eine Da-tenkommunikation unter Verwendung unterschiedlicher Datenkommunikations-Spezifikationen mit Zentralgeräten durchzuführen, wobei für die unterschiedlichen Datenkommunikations-Spezifikationen unterschiedliche Zentralgeräte vorgesehen sind, umfaßt einen Endgerätverbinder (32) zum Anschließen des Endgeräts, eine Einrichtung (38) zum Identifizieren eines Merkmales einer Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation, die einem an dem Endgerätverbinder (32) angeschlossenen Endgerät zugeordnet ist, und zum Erzeugen eines Steuersignales, das auf die Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation hinweist, einen ersten Datenkommunikationsverbinder (34), der für ein an den Endgerätverbinder (32) angeschlossenes Endgerät vorgesehen ist, das nach einer ersten Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation arbeitet, und das mit dem Zentralgerät, das für die erste Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation vorgesehen ist, verbindbar ist, einen zweiten Datenkommunikationsverbinder (36), der für ein an den Endgerätverbinder (32) angeschlossenes Endgerät vorgesehen ist, das nach einer zweiten Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation arbeitet, und das mit dem Zentralgerät, das für die zweite Datenkommunikations-Spezifikation vorgesehen ist, verbindbar ist, und eine Durchschalteinrichtung (40) zum steuerbaren Durchschalten des Endgerätverbinders (32) zu dem ersten Datenkommunikationsverbinder (34) oder zu dem zweiten Datenkommunikationsverbinder (36), abhängig von dem Steuersignal.
