Abstract

The object of the invention is a short-circuit current limiter for the purpose of a short-circuit protection in alternating current circuit intended in particular, for the purpose of a short-circuit protection in the power system of alternating voltage. A switch (T1), preferably thyristor SCR, is connected in series with the parallel connected circuit limbs containing diodes (3) and (4) in the first unit (I) and its direction of connection is the same as that of the diodes (3) and (4), and the in series connected switch (T1) and the two in parallel connected circuit limbs containing diodes (3) and (4) are connected in parallel to the reactor (1). In the second unit: A switch (T2), preferably thyristor SCR, is connected in series with the parallel connected circuit limbs containing diodes (7) and (8), and the direction of its connection is the same as that of the diodes (7) and (8), and the in series connected switch (T2) and the two in parallel connected circuit limbs containing diodes (7) and (8) are connected in parallel to the reactor (6).
