Abstract

A heat exchanger/chemical reactor comprising a body (11, 500) defining one or more fluid flow passages (20, 507) and a removable insert (10) that constitutes secondary heat exchange surfaces. The insert (10) is located as an interference fit in the passages (20, 507) and may be coated with a catalyst for use in a chemical reactor.
