Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de décompression comprenant une étape de préparation pour : décompresser des données de compression de blocs contenues dans des données de compression, de manière séquentielle et en partie au moment de la décompression des données de compression contenant une pluralité d'éléments de données de compression de blocs, les données de pixels contenues dans un bloc de pixels, par exemple une matrice d'une pluralité de matrices obtenues par division d'une image, étant comprimées au moins par codage entropique ; pour acquérir des informations intermédiaires contenant au moins des informations de position permettant d'accéder à ces données de compression de blocs et pour mémoriser lesdites informations intermédiaires d'au moins quelques éléments des données de compression de blocs. Ce procédé comprend également une étape de décompression des données de compression de blocs correspondant à un région arbitraire de l'image au moyen des informations intermédiaires mémorisées, au moment de la décompression dans cette région. Les données de compression de blocs n'étant pas décodées entièrement mais partiellement et les informations intermédiaires étant mémorisées, il est possible de décompresser les données d'image à partir de la position arbitraire sur la base des informations intermédiaires et de sortir ces données d'image même à partir d'une imprimante à faible capacité de mémoire.
