Abstract

The present invention is an invention having the object of providing a steel sheet for a container having a weld, which can prevent the decline of productivity caused by buckling at the process of annealing the steel sheet, the occurrence of cracks at a weld during can manufacturing, and the occurrence of cracks at a weld during the use of a can. The first present invention is characterized by: containing, in mass, C: 0.0050% or less and N: 0.0060% or less; controlling the ratio B/N within the range from 0.4 to 2.0; satisfying the expression, (N existing as ALN)/(N existing as BN) <= 0.4; and, as occasion demands, controlling the ratio Al/B to 30 or less; controlling the reheating temperature of a slab at hot-rolling to 1,100 degree Celsius or higher. The second present invention is a steel sheet for a container, excellent in formability and fatigue property at a weld, characterized by: containing, in mass, C: 0.0005 to 0.040%, Si: 0.002 to 0.50%, Mn: 0.03 to 2.00%, P: 0.002 to 0.080%, S: 0.0100 to 0.0600%, Al: 0.0010 to 0.0700%, and N: 0.0020 to 0.0300%, the content of solute N being 20 to 300 ppm.
