The invention relates to a method of mounting an air-conditioning unit on a dashboard cross member which reduces positioning and removing times and unwanted sounds and vibrations. For this purpose, the method of mounting said unit (1) on the cross member (2) consists in: fitting the unit to the cross member by means of a rotation connection; pivoting the unit (1); and removably hooking a pivoting part (1a) of the unit to the cross member. A sample mounting system comprises; two lateral members (10) which are solidly connected to the air-conditioning unit and disposed perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction (D) thereof; a semi-cylindrical cross member support (20) which is used to receive said lateral members (10); and clipping means (12, 22) which are disposed on the unit to be mounted and on the cross member. Said clipping means consist of (i) a hook having a portion comprising a double spring plate (12a), the end of which is provided with a head (12b), and (ii) an opening (22) which is formed in a plate (23). The invention is suitable for use in land, sea or air vehicles.
