The arrangement comprises a glass pane frame (9) edge part (16) parallel with the surface plane of the glass pane (5), against the inner surface (21) of which edge part the outer surface of the glass pane (5) can be locked, and an inwards extending locking projection (17) formed outside the edge (22) of the glass pane (5), on the inner surface (21) of the edge part (16), the projection forming a locking groove (15) opening away from the edge (22) of the glass pane. The arrangement further comprises fixing members (7) which can be inserted in the locking groove (15) and against the inner surface of the glass pane (5) in such a way that the outer surface of the glass pane (5) will become locked against the inner surface of the edge part (16).

Description

Arrangement for fixing a glass pane to its frame
The present invention relates to an arrangement for fixing a glass pane to its frame.
The aim of the invention is to provide a relatively simple fixing arrangement, by means of which a glass pane can be fixed to its frame without tools, or by using a simple impact tool, such as a light hammer. To achieve this aim, the fixing arrangement according to the invention is characterised in that the arrangement comprises: a glass pane frame edge part parallel with the surface plane of the glass pane, against the inner surface of which edge part the outer surface of the glass pane can be locked; an inwards extending locking projection formed outside the edge of the glass pane, on the inner surface of the edge part, the projection forming a locking groove opening away from the edge of the glass pane; and in addition fixing members which can be inserted in the locking groove and against the inner surface of the glass pane in such a way that the outer surface of the glass pane will become locked against the inner surface of the edge part.
Some preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
The invention is described in greater detail in the following, when applied to fixing the glass pane of the cover part of a stand for illuminated advertisements, but the invention may also be applied to other fixing of glass panes, such as window panes, door panes, balcony glazing, etc.
In the drawings: Figure 1 shows a diagrammatic front view of a stand for illuminated advertisements to which the fixing arrangement according to the invention can be applied,
Figure 2 shows a diagrammatic side view of the stand for illuminated advertisements shown in Figure 1, and
Figure 3 shows a detailed enlargement of the fixing arrangement according to the invention.
Figures 1 and 2 show a stand for illuminated advertisements which comprises a poster surface 3 onto which the desired poster can be mounted, and a cover part 4 which is hinged to the frame part 2. The cover part is, in addition, provided with shifting means 10-12 for shifting the poster surface out better when the cover part 4 is opened, in order to facilitate the changing of the poster on the poster surface 3.
The cover part 4 comprises a glass pane 5 fixed to the frame 9 of the cover part by a fixing member 7, as shown in greater detail in Figure 3. The glass pane fixing arrangement comprises an edge part 16 of the frame 9, which extends essentially parallel with the surface plane of the glass pane 5, and against the inner surface 21 of which the outer surface of the glass pane 5 can be placed. Between the outer surface of the glass pane 5 and the inner surface 21 of the edge part 16 is most preferably fitted a sealing means 8. On the inner surface of the edge part 16 is formed an inwards extending locking projection 17, which forms a locking groove 15 opening away from the edge 22 of the glass pane 5, into which the fixing member 7 can be placed so that the glass pane 5 will be fixed in place against the inner surface of the edge part 16 by means of the sealing 8. The fixing member 7 is comprised of a profile part having an essentially C-shaped frame part 19, one end 25 of the C settling against the inner surface of the glass pane 5 and its opposite end 18 being lengthened in such a way that it may extend into the locking groove 15. On the end 18 of the C-part extending into the locking groove 15 is in addition formed a support lug 20 which is designed so as to rest against the inner surface 21 of the edge part 16 in such a way that when the fixing member 7 is moved towards the bottom of the locking groove 15, for example, by pushing by hand or by lightly tapping with a hammer, this will cause the glass pane 5 to be locked between the end 25 of the C-part settling against the inner surface of the edge part 16 and the inner surface 21 of the edge part 16. The dimensioning of the fixing member 7 and the locking groove 15 is such that the further the fixing member part 18 is pushed into the groove 15, the more the end part 25 will move towards the inner surface 21 of the edge part 16, thus tightening the glass pane 5 more firmly in place. The fixing member 7 remains in place through frictional force.
When the glass pane needs to be detached from the frame 9, for example, to replace a broken pane, the detaching can be carried out simply by moving the fixing member 7 outwards in the groove 15, for example, by tapping with a hammer or the like, after which it is easy to lift the glass pane out of its place in the frame 9.
In the case of window or door panes, for example, the fixing member 7 preferably forms a continuous inner frame around the entire edge part of the glass pane 5, whereby it is comprised of sections having a length equalling each edge of the glass pane, which preferably form a corner joint (chamfered joint) with each other. In connection with advertisement stands and the like, where the inner edges of the glass pane remain hidden, the fixing member preferably comprises several short profile pieces having a length of, for example, 10 cm, a desired number of which is used on the different edges of the glass pane.
