- the invention also represents a simple solution in the sense that, in principle, the proposed device requires only a memory for managing its internal programs, and does not require memory for storing the digital images themselves.
- the apparatus can be used in any place, and it can, for example, be placed on any support, such as a piece of furniture, and then be used in the manner of a frame for the presentation of digital photographs ; thus, the device can present either a single photograph on its screen, or a scrolling of photographs on its screen, then taking the equivalent of an album of photographs (such use may however require a greater internal memory capacity ).
- the proposed device makes it possible to view the images on its screen, to select them, and to edit them thanks to the connection with the printer.
- the housing of the apparatus has a generally rectangular shape, it is possible to arrange this housing either vertically or horizontally, for viewing or presenting digital photographs over the entire surface of the screen, whether they are in "height" (portrait) or "width” (landscape) format.
- the simplified keyboard is advantageously made accessible, or on the contrary concealed, by a pivoting flap, articulated on the housing.
- This arrangement protects the keyboard when the device is not in use; it also gives the device a smooth and aesthetic frame appearance, for the use of this device as a frame for the presentation of digital photographs.

- the apparatus for viewing and editing digital photographs comprises a housing 3 of relatively small thickness, and of generally rectangular shape.
- the housing 3 which is its front face, comprises a flat liquid crystal screen 4, of rectangular shape, clearly visible in FIGS. 1 and 3.
- the housing 3 comprises a slot 5 for the insertion of a memory card; this side face also comprises, in the example illustrated, a loudspeaker 6 integrated into the housing 3 (see figure 2).
- the side face of the housing 3 opposite the previous one has an outlet 7, for the connection of a printer (see FIG. 1).
- a simplified keyboard 8 that is to say limited to a few keys.
- the housing 3 On its large rear face, opposite the flat screen 4, the housing 3 is provided with a support foot 11, articulated and orientable. When deployed, the support foot 11 maintains the device 2 in a standing position, as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the device can thus rest on a horizontal surface.

- a memory card 14 from a digital camera 15, and storing the pictures taken by this camera is inserted into the slot 5 of the housing 3.
- the slot 5 is provided for the direct introduction of a memory card 14 of corresponding dimensions, or for the introduction of an adapter 16 receiving a memory card 14 of smaller dimensions (as indicated on the figure 4).
- the user visualizes the images on the flat screen 4, and scrolls them on this screen 4.
- the connection 17 of the output 7 with a printer 18 makes it possible to edit the photographs, in order to obtain prints on paper 19.
- the simplified keyboard 8 the user can, during the viewing of the images on the flat screen 4, carry out alterations, or operations enlargement or reduction or cropping, or inlaying any text or indications, before ordering the edition using the same keyboard 8.
- the apparatus 2 is also usable as a presentation frame for digital photographs, as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2.
- the shutter pivoting 9 is then closed, to give the housing 3 a smooth and aesthetic appearance.
