Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine optimale SNR-skalierbare Videocodierung. Das neuartige Codierschema zeichnet sich aus durch nahtlose SNR Skalierbarkeit ohne dadurch eine Abweichung zwischen Rekonstruktion im Sender und im Empfänger einzuführen. Die Leistungsfähigkeit des erfindungsgemäßen Systems überbietet dabei sogar das sogenannte Simulcast. Durch die neuen Codecs in den verschiedenen Auflösungsebenen und die entsprechende Verbindung der Codecs ist es sogar möglich jederzeit zwischen den Auflösungsebenen umzuschalten, ohne dabei auf eine erneuerte Synchronisation warten zu müssen.
