Abstract

The inventive reactor for processing solid organic materials can be used for processing carbon-containing materials like used tires, plastic and scrap rubber by means of dry pyrolysis. Said reactor comprises a vertical muffle furnace and a feeding device in the form of a chamber (3) which is mounted on the top of a retort (7) of the furnace. Said feeding device is provided with a feeder (1) a piston (4) and a chamber (5) which is provided with a piston (6) and disposed vertically with respect to the feeding device. A screw discarger (14) is arranged in the lower part of the retort (7). The inventive feeding device makes it possible to periodically add into the retort (7) treated material during operation and to prevent an uncontrolled gas discharge to the atmosphere, the final product being continuously evacuated from the furnace with the aid of the screw discharger.
