Description

METHOD FOR INERMEDIATING INSURANCE COMMODITIES
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a method for intermediating insurance commodities wherein when a customer purchases goods through a network such as the Internet, information on an insurance product related to the purchased goods is provided to the customer, and a computer-readable recording medium on which a program for implementing the method is recorded.
Background Art
The Internet is an aggregate of computers and computer communication networks for connecting the computers with one another. That is, the Internet is a system for allowing information accumulated in the computers to be shared. Since the Internet is a worldwide communication network, there is an advantage in that everybody can connect with and make use of the Internet all over the world. Owing to development of the Internet, electronic commerce has grown rapidly. To support the electronic commerce, development of various contents is in progress.
Further, in accordance with the recent trend, various services which were provided only offline are now provided even on-line. For example, services related to sales of used cars, auction, and banking are being provided online as well as offline.
A conventional insurance service was provided offline in such a manner that an insurance planner working at an insurance company canvases customers for insurance one by one and introduces an insurance product to them so that they take out an insurance. Recently, insurance companies have developed a variety of contents in order to sell insurance through the Internet.
However, when selling the insurance through such construction of contents only for the sale of the insurance, "customer stickiness" is lowered due to lack of attraction of customer's interest, lack of customer's perception of a need for purchase of the insurance, and the like. Accordingly, there is a problem in that an anticipated result cannot be achieved.
That is, since a general customer does not perceive a need of taking out the insurance at ordinary times, it is actually rare for the customer to voluntarily visit a homepage of the insurance company and take out the insurance. Even in a case where the customer visits the homepage of the insurance company and takes out the insurance, there are provided a lot of insurance products in the homepage and thus it is also difficult for the customer to select a desired insurance product among them.
To solve the above problem, there has been proposed a method of acquiring insurance information through chatting with an adviser in the homepage. However, there is still a problem in that it is troublesome for a user to utilize this method.
Further, since the respective insurance companies should separately construct their own homepages in order to sell the insurance online, there are a lot of difficulties in view of construction costs and management thereof.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, the present invention is conceived to solve the problems as mentioned above. An object of the present invention is to provide an insurance product intermediating method and a computer-readable recording medium on which a program for implementing the method is recorded, wherein insurance products related to goods provided in a variety of contents available on the Internet are developed, and an application for any one of the insurance products is accepted from a customer through an electronic commerce system for operating the contents, thereby performing intermediation for the insurance products between the customer and an insurance company.
In order to achieve the above object, an insurance product intermediating method applied to an information and communication system according to the present invention comprises the first step of receiving information on insurance products from an affiliated insurance company's system, and constructing a database with the information; the second step of, if a customer who has purchased goods through an affiliated electronic commerce system selects an insurance gift certificate provided by the electronic commerce system, receiving information on the customer and the goods from the electronic commerce system; the third step of presenting an insurance product necessary for the customer by using the information on the insurance products in the first step and the information in the second step; and the fourth step of, if the customer makes an application for purchase of the insurance product, informing the affiliated insurance company's system and the customer of agreement particulars of an insurance contract, and concluding the insurance contract.
Further, the present invention provides a computer-readable recording medium on which a program for an information and communication system with a high-capacity processor is recorded in order to perform intermediation for an insurance product. The program comprises instructions for causing the information and communication system to implement the first function of receiving information on insurance products from an affiliated insurance company's system, and constructing a database with the information; the second function of, if a customer who has purchased goods through an affiliated electronic commerce system selects an insurance gift certificate provided by the electronic commerce system, receiving information on the customer and the goods from the electronic commerce system; the third function of presenting an insurance product necessary for the customer by using the information on the insurance products in the first step and the information in the second step; and the fourth function of, if the customer makes an application for purchase of the insurance product, informing the affiliated insurance company's system and the customer of agreement particulars of an insurance contract, and concluding the insurance contract. That is, the present invention is directed to a method of providing the insurance product most suitable to the customer, who has subscribed to an internet shopping mall and then has purchased goods therein, by using information on the customer and information on the purchased goods when the customer wishes to buy an insurance product related to the purchased goods.

The goods selling system 130 includes a web server 131 for operating a homepage and allowing of connection with a customer through the Internet, a control unit 132 for processing information inputted from the web server and an admimstrator's terminal 136, a customer database 133 for storing and managing information on customers, a goods database 134 for storing and managing information on goods, a customer support database 135 for providing information on insurance products related to the goods, and the administrator's terminal 136. The insurance product intermediating system 140 includes a web server 141 for operating a homepage and allowing of connection with the customer through the Internet, a control unit 142 for processing information inputted from the web server and an administrator's terminal, a customer database 143 for storing and managing information on customers, a product database 144 for storing and managing information on insurance products, a customer support database 145 for storing and managing information on the insurance products to be provided to the customer, and the administrator's terminal 146. At this time, the insurance product intermediating system 140 receives various information on the insurance products from the insurance company's system 150 affiliated therewith and then manages the information in the customer support database 145. At the same time, the insurance product intermediating system continuously receives information on the customers and goods from the goods selling system 130 affiliated therewith and then manages the information in the database. Further, by using the information on the customers and goods and the information on the insurance products provided by the insurance company's system 150, various cases where the customers can be substantially matched with the insurance products are forecasted and analyzed and results obtained in this way are stored in the customer support database 145. Thus, the customer can be quickly provided with a one-to-one tailored service, if necessary.
An insurance product intermediating method performed in the information and communication system constructed as such will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
FIG. 2 is a flowchart explaining an embodiment of the insurance product intermediating method according to the present invention.
In the information and communication system as shown in FIG. 1, the customer connects with the web server 131 of the goods selling system 130 through the network 120 such as the Internet by using the customer's terminal 110 including a PC and a wireless terminal (step 202). At this time, the control unit 132 retrieves data on a variety of goods from the goods database 134 and then provides the data to the customer. After the customer subscribes as a member of the goods selling system 130, he/she shops at the goods selling system 130 and utilizes various services provided by the system 130. At this time, the control unit 132 stores the customer's personal information inputted upon subscription as the member in the customer database 133 of the goods selling system 130 and then transmits the customer's personal information to the insurance product intermediating system 140 (step 204).
If the customer who has subscribed as the member purchases any one of the goods provided by the goods selling system 130 (step 206), the control unit 132 issues the customer with an insurance gift certificate in the customer support database 135 (step 208). That is, when the customer has selected any one of the goods and has gone through a settlement procedure related to the selected goods, the control unit 132 searches the customer support database 135 for an insurance product related to the goods purchased by the customer, retrieves the relevant insurance product from the customer support database 135, and then issues the customer with an insurance gift certificate together with brief comments (step 208).
If the customer wants an insurance product, he/she selects the issued insurance gift certificate to connect with the web server 141 of the insurance product intermediating system 140 (step 210). That is, the customer to whom the insurance gift certificate has been issued can apply for the insurance product by using the insurance gift certificate in accordance with his/her own selection, and connect with a homepage of an insurance product intermediating agent by clicking the insurance gift certificate.
At this time, the control unit 132 of the goods selling system transmits the personal information on the customer who has selected the insurance gift certificate and the information on the goods purchased by the customer from the goods selling system 133, 134 to the insurance product intermediating system 140 (step 212). The control unit 142 of the insurance product intermediating system 140, which has received the customer's personal information and the information on the goods purchased by the customer, stores the information in the customer database 143 and the product database 144, respectively. Here, the customer's personal information may be transmitted in real-time to the insurance product intermediating system 140. However, concurrently with the subscription of the customer as the member, the customer's personal information may be stored in the customer database 143 of the insurance product intermediating system 140 so that it can be grasped even only with a member's ID of the customer who has connected with the web server 141 of the insurance product intermediating system 140. That is, the information inputted upon subscription as the member is used for the customer's personal information which in turn may be provided in connection with only the goods purchased by the customer. At this time, the control unit 142 of the insurance product intermediating system 140 extracts an insurance product suitable to the customer from insurance products stored in the customer support database 145 by using the information stored in the customer database 143 and the product database 144 and then provides the customer with the relevant information (step 214). Namely, in consideration of the customer's personal information such as sex, age and occupation together with the kind, price, quality, etc. of the goods purchased by the customer, the insurance product most suitable to the customer is introduced to the customer. In addition, in order to provide various insurance products related to the various goods, an administrator of the insurance product intermediating system 140 cooperates with an administrator of the insurance company's system 150 and continuously develops a new insurance product. When the customer who has received the insurance product provided by the insurance product intermediating system 140 examines and then selects the insurance product, the insurance product intermediating system 140 transmits agreement particulars of an insurance contract to the customer and simultaneously transmits the agreement particulars of the insurance contract and the customer's personal information to the insurance company's system 150 which provides the relevant insurance product (step 216).
At this time, the insurance product intermediating system 140 receives an insurance policy or the like from the insurance company's system 150 which has been informed by the insurance product intermediating system 140 and then transmits the insurance policy or the like to the customer who has bought the insurance product, so that the insurance product intermediating procedure is completed (step 218). Alternatively, the insurance policy or the like may be transmitted to the customer directly from the insurance company's system 150 without passing through the insurance product intermediating system 140. Here, the insurance product intermediating method can be established by issuing the insurance gift certificate when the customer who has subscribed as the member of the goods selling system 130 has purchased the goods. Alternatively, the method may be established by issuing the insurance gift certificates to all the customers who have subscribed as the members. That is, the insurance gift certificates related to the goods provided in the relevant website are issued to all the customers who have subscribed as the members, so that the intermediation for the insurance products can be performed by using the information or the relevant goods and the customer's personal information. FIG. 3 a is a detailed flowchart explaining a case where goods for children are purchased in the insurance product intermediating method according to the present invention. Namely, FIG. 3 a shows an example of the insurance product intermediating method illustrated in FIG. 2, and in particular, a process of an insurance product intermediating service to be provided in a case where the customer connects with a children's educational information system 130 and purchases the goods.
That is, a father or mother (customer) who is interested in the education of his/her children connects with a homepage of the children's educational information system 130 through the customer's terminal 110 and the Internet 120 (step 312). The father or mother (customer) subscribes as a member by providing the children's educational information system 130 with his/her own personal information and the children's personal information. The children's educational information system 130 stores the inputted customer's and children's personal information in the customer database 133 and manages the information (step 314). The father or mother (customer) who has subscribed as the member can use various services provided by the children's educational information system 130. At this time, if the father or mother (customer) selects a specific education program (step 316), a children's insurance gift certificate together with brief comments on an insurance product related to the selected education program is issued to the father or mother (customer) (step 318).
The father or mother (customer) to whom the children's insurance gift certificate has been issued selects the insurance gift certificate to connect with the insurance product intermediating system 320 (step 320). Here, the children's educational information system 130 transmits the personal information on both the father or mother (customer) and the children as well as information on the education program selected by the father or the mother to the insurance product intermediating system 140 (step 322).
The insurance product intermediating system 140, which has received the personal information on both the father or mother (customer) and the children as well as the information on the education program, extracts the insurance product most suitable to the father or mother (customer) and the children, based on the information, from insurance products which the system 140 has received from the insurance company, and then, provides the extracted insurance product to the father or mother (customer) (step 324). Here, the available children's insurance products may include an insurance product for compensating for actual loss of medical expenses due to a children's bodily injury in their daily life, an insurance product for paying a death benefit, and the like. Furthermore, since the goods selected by the father or mother (customer) are the goods for children, various insurance products for children such as educational endowment insurance can be provided in addition to the aforementioned insurance products. When the father or mother (customer) who has received the insurance product provided by the insurance product intermediating system 140 examines and then selects the insurance product, the insurance product intermediating system 140 transmits agreement particulars of an insurance contract to the father or mother (customer) and simultaneously transmits the agreement particulars and the personal information on both the father or mother and the children to the insurance company's system 150 which provides the relevant insurance product (step 326).
At this time, the insurance product intermediating system 140 receives an insurance policy or the like from the insurance company's system 150 which has been informed by the insurance product intermediating system 140 and then transmits the insurance policy or the like to the father or mother (customer) who has bought the insurance product, so that the insurance product intermediating procedure is completed (step 328). However, the insurance policy or the like may be transmitted to the father or mother (customer) directly from the insurance company's system 150 without passing through the insurance product intermediating system 140. Here, the insurance product intermediating method can be established by issuing the children's insurance gift certificate when the father or mother (customer) who has subscribed as the member of the children's educational information system 130 has purchased the specific goods, as described above. Alternatively, the method may be established by issuing the children's insurance gift certificates to all the fathers or mothers (customers) who have subscribed as the members. That is, the children's insurance gift certificates related to the goods for children provided in the relevant website are issued to all the fathers or mothers (customers) who have subscribed as the members, so that the intermediation for the insurance products can be performed by using the relevant goods and the personal information on both the father or mother (customer) and the children.
FIG. 3b is a detailed flowchart explaining another case where goods for marriage are purchased in the insurance product intermediating method according to the present invention. Namely, FIG. 3b shows another example of the insurance product intermediating method illustrated in FIG. 2, and in particular, a process of an insurance product intermediating service to be provided in a case where the customer connects with a marriage information system 130 and purchases the goods for marriage. That is, a customer who is interested in the marriage connects with a homepage of the marriage information system 130 through the customer's terminal 110 and the Internet 120 (step 342).
The customer subscribes as a member by providing the marriage information system 130 with his/her own personal information. The marriage information system 130 stores the inputted customer's personal information in the customer database 133 and manages it (step 344).
The customer who has subscribed as the member can use various services provided by the marriage information system 130. At this time, if the customer selects any one of specific goods, e.g. a marriage meeting schedule, provided by the marriage information system 130 (step 346), a marriage insurance gift certificate together with brief comments on an insurance product related to the relevant marriage meeting schedule is issued to the customer (step 348). The customer to whom the marriage insurance gift certificate has been issued selects the insurance gift certificate to connect with the insurance product intermediating system 350 (step 350). Here, the marriage information system 130 transmits the customer's personal information as well as information on the marriage meeting schedule selected by the customer to the insurance product intermediating system 140 (step 352).
The insurance product intermediating system 140, which has received the customer's personal information as well as the information on the marriage meeting schedule, extracts the most reasonable insurance product suitable to the customer, based on the information, from insurance products which the system 140 has received from the insurance company, and then, provides the extracted insurance product to the customer (step 354). Here, the available marriage insurance products may include an insurance product for paying a predetermined bounty for congratulation on the customer's marriage when the customer succeeds in marrying after the marriage meeting, an insurance product for supplementing medical expenses due to the customer's bodily injury during the term of insurance (generally, one year), and the like. Furthermore, since the goods selected by the customer are goods for marriage, various insurance products for marriage such as life insurance and children's educational endowment insurance can be provided in addition to the aforementioned insurance products. When the customer who has received the insurance product provided by the insurance product intermediating system 140 examines and then selects the insurance product, the insurance product intermediating system 140 transmits agreement particulars of an insurance contract to the customer and simultaneously transmits the agreement particulars and the customer's personal information to the insurance company's system 150 which provides the relevant insurance product (step 356).
At this time, the insurance product intermediating system 140 receives an insurance policy or the like from the insurance company's system 150 which has been informed by the insurance product intermediating system 140 and then transmits the insurance policy or the like to the customer who has bought the insurance product, so that the insurance product intermediating procedure is completed (step 358). However, the insurance policy or the like may be transmitted to the customer directly from the insurance company's system 150 without passing through the insurance product intermediating system 140. Here, the insurance product intermediating method can be established by issuing the marriage insurance gift certificate when the customer who has subscribed as the member of the marriage information system 130 has purchased the specific goods, as described above. Alternatively, the method may be established by issuing the marriage insurance gift certificates to all the customers who have subscribed as the members. That is, the marriage insurance gift certificates related to the goods for marriage provided in the relevant website are issued to all the customers who have subscribed as the members, so that the intermediation for the insurance products can be performed by using the information or the relevant goods and the customer's personal information.
Here, the goods selling system can be a system for selling goods closely related to the insurance products, such as the aforementioned children's educational information system and marriage information system, and an automobile selling system. However, it may be a goods selling system, such as a general internet shopping mall, which a lot of users visit.
Although the present invention has been described with respect to preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art may make various substitutions, modifications and changes without departing from the technical spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, the present invention is not limited to the details of the aforementioned embodiments and the accompanying drawings.
Industrial Applicability
According to the present invention, the insurance products are publicized through various goods selling systems on the Internet, which are directly or indirectly related to insurance products. The customers who take out the insurance products through such systems can be provided with the one-to-one tailored insurance service by using the information on both the customers and the goods inputted into the selling system.
