Abstract

La présente invention concerne un câble à fibres optiques comprenant un petit nombre de fibres, qui est composé d'une gaine tubulaire extérieure, d'une ou plusieurs fibres optiques se présentant sous forme lâche, en faisceau, dans une gaine intermédiaire serrée ou sous forme de ruban, qui sont disposées dans le passage interne de la gaine, d'un élément gonflable dans l'eau qui recouvre la surface interne de la gaine, et d'un ou plusieurs éléments de renfort enrobés dans la gaine. L'élément gonflable dans l'eau est de préférence formé d'un ruban gonflable dans l'eau enroulé en une configuration tubulaire. Le câble comprend de préférence deux éléments de renfort sur les côtés opposés du passage qui reçoit les fibres de façon que le câble se plie de préférence autour d'un axe transversal qui passe à travers les axes des éléments de renfort.
